Exciting Kindle Fire Deals Chop Price in Half

Exciting new Kindle Fire deals have emerged for holiday shoppers today as the Kindle Fire HDX price has been slashed in half for a limited time.

As we push deeper into the month of December, we’re starting to see retailers slash prices on old smartphones and tablets. We’ve seen iPhone 5 deals take Apple’s aging former flagship to a new low at eBay and today, Amazon’s slashed the price on its old, but still current, 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX. These new Kindle Fire deals take a budget device down to an absurd low.

Amazon’s new Kindle Fire deals slash the price of the 7-inch Kindle HDX LTE models in half. This is one of the biggest Kindle Fire deals of the year and it’s a tempting offer for those that are in the hunt for solid, affordable tablets that tap into Amazon’s rich ecosystem that includes books, movies, music, and a whole lot more.

The retailer’s 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX 16GB with LTE, which typically sits at $279, has dropped down to $140. That’s hundreds of dollars less than its Apple counterpart, the iPad mini, and cheaper than Google’s brand new Nexus 9 tablet from HTC. 16GB doesn’t offer a ton of space but this tablet is not aimed at power users.

For those that need more storage, there is the 64GB Kindle Fire HDX deal that takes the price from $339 all the way down to $180. This is a 53% price drop and it’s an offer that holiday shoppers should take a look at because it’s not clear if and when this kind of deal will emerge again. These details are also being offered for a limited time.

They are both a part of Amazon’s Gold Box deals which means that they apply to today and today only. They’re also only going to be live until stock runs out. The company is not offering any kind of stock count so it’s not clear when, or if, it will run out of stock. Given these prices, it’s possible that we’ll see these Kindle Fire HDX deals run out before the end of the day.

Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX models may not be new but they are among the best tablets that money can buy. The device’s come with an array of high-end specifications including beautiful displays, speedy processors, a good camera, and a wealth of entertainment options thanks to Amazon’s various in-house services.

These devices are considered Android tablets though they run a heavily modified version of Google’s operating system. Those looking for an upgrade to Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop update would be wise to look elsewhere. Amazon does not outfit its devices with the latest Android updates.

With just 14 hours to go before these Kindle Fire deals end, consumers have a difficult choice to make. The Kindle Fire HDX models aren’t the only mid-sized tablets on the market and they are currently competing with the likes of Apple’s iPad mini 3, the company’s new tablet that emerged back in October. Apple’s new 7.9-inch tablet is on par with the Kindle Fire HDX in many ways though again, its starting price point is far more expensive than what Amazon’s offering here.

Once these deals end though, the Kindle Fire HDX will be returned to its usual price point where the device simply won’t be as attractive as it is right now. Kindl Fire deals will almost certainly continue to emerge throughout the month of December though and they are expected to arrive next year as Amazon tries to compete in an extremely competitive market.
