Latest iPhone 6 Rumors: What to Believe This Week

Published

on

The latest iPhone 6 rumors focus on the price, potential iPhone 6 features and the best look yet at the 5.5-inch iPhone 6. Apple’s attempts to keep the iPhone 6 under wraps are not going exactly as planned as case manufacturers continue to churn out mock ups that reportedly show exactly what buyers can expect form the new iPhone this fall.

This week we see new iPhone 6 rumors arrive from a variety of sources including more leaks from a pop star, analysts and case makers that cannot wait to start selling iPhone 6 cases later this year.

After sorting through the latest iPhone 6 rumors all week, here is a fast look at the rumors worth believing and what you need to know about the iPhone 6, as it stands in the middle of June 2014.

You can read our iPhone 6 page to get the full picture of what we expect from Apple, with updates as they come in, and a full look at what consumers can expect.

Latest iPhone 6 Rumors

These iPhone 6 rumors from June 15th through the end of the week highlight a variety of things consumers can expect. iPhone 6 rumors are not set in stone and may change from week to week, but when a collection of rumors start to agree we see the iPhone 6 take shape ahead of any official announcements.

iPhone 6 Price

The iPhone 6 price could come in up to $100 higher than the iPhone 5s according to a new prediction from Raymond James analyst Tavis McCourt. Speaking with WSJ’s MarketWatch McCourt warns that Apple could charge $100 more for the iPhone 6 with a 5.5-inch screen. He believes customers will pay this premium, according to a recent survey,

Our June consumer survey points to continued growth in the willingness of iPhone users to pay $100 more for a bigger screened iPhone, with now a full one-third of survey respondents willing to pay a $100 premium.

Other analysts often suggest Apple will charge a higher iPhone 6 price for this new model, which makes sense considering the competition from Samsung sells at a $100 premium over the Galaxy S5.

iPhone 6 Size Comparison

This week the iPhone 6 size comparisons came out in full force with multiple photos showing an iPhone 6 with a 4.7-inch display next to an iPhone 6 with a 5.5-inch display, or at least what leaks suggest will be the sizes. The photo below shows the front of two iPhone 6 models, with the largest measuring in a full bezel bigger than the 4.7-inch model.

iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 - Apple reportedly preps a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch iPhone.

iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 – Apple reportedly preps a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch iPhone.

These alleged iPhone 6 photos come from Sonny Dickson, who posted them on Twitter early in the week. Dickson is well-known for his iPhone leaks, including photos like this well ahead of an official Apple announcement. Mock-ups from many suppliers share a similar look, so it is possible you are looking at Apple’s new iPhones for 2014.

iPhone 6 vs iPhone 5s Photos

Another set of iPhone 6 mock-up photos shows a comparison of the iPhone 6 vs iPhone 5s, using a iPhone dummy unit similar to the one in the photos above.

On all of these dummy units we see rounder corners, more curves on the edges and a thinner body than the iPhone 5s. In the many photos we see a taller iPhone 6 that is not much wider, and the now familiar back design that shows an aluminum or metal frame with rubber or plastic dividers to help communication.

These photos come from Korean site Seeko and Japanese site Ascii, where there are more angles and close-ups.

Key iPhone 6 Details

A report from the Economic Daily News claims to reveal the iPhone 6 screen sizes, release date and which devices will include Sapphire screens.

This report is interesting because most of it lines up with previous rumors. While it is not sharing anything radically new, it does help outline what to expect.

  • 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models
  • Sapphire on 5.5-inch Gorilla Glass on 4.7-inch iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Release Date at the end of Q3 (September)

A previous report suggests Apple is ready to put a scratch proof Sapphire display on two iPhone 6 models this fall. Thus far it is not clear what Apple will do with Sapphire, but the iPhone 6 screen sizes and iPhone 6 release date are believable.

iPhone 6 vs LG G3 vs Galaxy Note 3

Although we’ve seen the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 mock-up in a variety of photos, the most interesting item is a video showing off how the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 model compares to the Galaxy Note 3 with a 5.7-inch display and the new LG G3 with a 5.5-inch display.

the video above from TechSmartt shows how the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 could compare to two of its biggest Android rivals this fall.

vpr….I just bought a great Ariel Atom from having earned $9356 this month and would you believe, $10k this past-month. This is really the most-comfortable work I have ever had. I began this 6 months ago and right away was bringing in more than $83 per/h. This is what I do… https://uuurl.net/aa644

If you believe that those are photos of the iPhone 6 it shows how little people know. Those are clearly fakes due to the fact that the edging is almost the same as the 5s. Apple has no choice but to go big this time just to stay ahead. being an apple follower my self i would be extremely up set if they released that same old crap case. They can only do edge to edge display and for the 5.5 what what I’ve read all over the internet it is a myth. one hand operation is apples thing its that simple. I feel that now that Steve is passed on there products now are just becoming a money grab and not anything special, if he was still alive the iPhone 5c and crappy ios7 would not be!

I have a huge feeling this is EXACTLY what the iPhone 6 will look like.

As for the iPhone 5c there is nothing crappy about it. It’s the iPhone 5 just with color. iOS 7 looks just like iOS 8… You may claim to be an ” Apple follower” but it seems to me you hate the direction in which they are going … Which leads me to
    Believe you’re actually a “Steve Jobs” follower…
