Launch Apps and Change Settings with Siri and SiriToggles on iPhone 4S

If there was anything keeping you from jailbreaking your iPhone 4S, SiriToggles might break your resolve.

SiriToggles is a free app that lets you use Siri to control your iPhone 4S settings and launch apps. Essentially, this is the Siri you wanted from Apple, but like always the hackers deliver it first.

In order to use SiriToggles you will need to have a jailbroken iPhone 4S.

Siri Toggles Settings

Change iPhone settings with Siri.

SiriToggles is available in the Cydia app store on jailbroken iPhones, and takes just a few seconds to install. The hack is only 7kb in size, which makes my wonder if Apple really is about ready to unleash Siri on Steroids with iOS 5.1.

To install SiriToggles, tap on Cydia and then Search for SiriToggles. Install and Relaunch SpringBoard to start using your more powerful Siri.

Once you install SiriToggles, you just press the home button like you normally would, and ask Siri to turn settings on and off or to launch an app.

SiriToggles still uses the same natural language you are used to, so you can perform the following commands pretty easily.

  • Turn Bluetooth off/on
  • Turn WiFi off/on
  • Turn Cellular Data off/on
  • Set Screen Brightness to XX%
Siri Launches Apps

Siri can launch apps with SiriToggles

In addition to these settings, you can launch apps with SiriToggles. I was able to launch many of my apps, but not all of them using SiriToggles. Here are some of the apps I could launch with Siri.

  • Rhapsody
  • Audible
  • Pandora
  • Maps
  • Yammer
  • Angry Birds
  • Tetris
  • App Store
  • Maps
  • and many others.

My favorite things to do with SiriToggles were changing settings and launching music apps like Pandora or Audible, which I commonly use in the car. I am very excited to see that this is available for free, and I know you can’t wait to have it on your iPhone 4S.
