Leaked Droid Bionic Press Shots Reveal Its Thickness

Published

on

When it rains it pours and just a short time after we showed you a lengthy preview video of the Motorola Droid Bionic some new images of the upcoming 4G LTE handset have leaked out giving us a clear unobstructed look at one of the most anticipated phones in a long time.

One of the knocks on the Droid Bionic has been how thick it seemed to be. We showed you some exclusive photos awhile back that showed off the sides of the Droid Bionic but to be honest, they were pretty inconclusive. It definitely looked like it was as thick as a Droid X but we couldn’t be too sure.

And now, we have some press shots that clearly show off the phone’s thickness. Droid-Life was nice enough to match it up with the Droid X and lo and behold, they are pretty darn similar. That’s impressive considering the massive battery that Motorola has obviously stuck in the Droid Bionic to compensate for the 4G LTE network.

Droid Bionic

We’ve know all along that the Droid Bionic isn’t going to be the thinnest phone on the block but at this stage in the evolution of 4G LTE devices, I think slim is a difficult feat to conquer.

Droid Bionic

As I’ve said time and time again, I’ll take a bulkier phone with fantastic battery life (and next-gen features) over a slim phone with horrible battery like (and next-gen features).

Droid Bionic

What do you think guys, do you like what you’re seeing or is it going to be a little bit bulky for your tastes?

I like it. I’ve had the X in hand and I didn’t like the way it felt in the transition area from thick to thin.
I think this will be much better.

That hump is so it wont slip out of your hand as much as it is for the battery. I have a droid X and since I rooted it im loving it.

Looks good to me. The Droid X is not a thick phone in my opinion, though I did come from a voyager.

the hump kinda reminds me of a hot rod car. put an engine in a car thts to big and give it some power. int this case tho, ur just putting a camera in thts too big 4 the phone and the screen gives bettrpics. smae but different

The “hump” is Motorola’s “teardrop” (That Apple will be copying in some fashion with the iPhone5). It serves three purposes… To slightly tilt the phone when it is on it’s back for better viewing, to house the “camera that’s too big”, and to hold LTE radios. Stop Crying.

I love this phone yet I do not possess it. The depth of my love for this phone may even be viewed as sexual. Can one fall in love with their cell phone? Will the future provide a way for one to mate or even become legally attached to their cell phone? I can see it now, “Do you, psycho cell phone owner, take the Droid Bionic as your life mate?”…and I reply, “YES!, until the next upgrade comes out do us part”. …tears flowing..its was beautiful.

probably will be a cool phone, functionality-wise. but this is
definitely one of the most unattractive devices i have ever seen.
obviously this is just my personal opinion, but i despise the bump-outs
some manufacturers put on their phones. I know they just may have to do
it in order to accommodate all the hardware, but stop calling your
device the ‘thinnest’ when only 75% of it is the thinnest. that being
said, if even the bump-out ends up being 3.5mm thick, I’ll be pretty
damn impressed. i am very fond of searching news update about motorla mobile.i would definitely say https://www.gottabemobile.com help me alot.i would like to share another big source of motorla mobile https://www.motoask.com
