This week LG Mobile is teasing its LG G Watch Android Wear device with a brand new video. Giving users an excellent look at the upcoming smartwatch while also revealing a few key features that weren’t mentioned in previous announcements.

Android Wear, Google’s new Android-based mobile operating system for wearable devices was announced in March, and will be arriving soon on devices like the LG G Watch and Moto 360 later this summer. While we patiently await more details, LG has taken the moment to release a 53-second promotional video they’re calling a “Product Movie” showcasing the LG G Watch.

LG hasn’t revealed too many details thus far about its new wearable device, aside from a few pictures and a small teaser site last month, but today’s video is giving us our best look yet at the Moto 360 smartwatch competition. Touting a metal design, great battery life, timeless look and much more.

We already know the LG G Watch is running Android, or more specifically Android Wear, but the video today touts Android compatibility and a list of other features that have yet to be announced. With Google I/O and the rumored July release date quickly approaching, we’re expecting more and more details to start surfacing about the G Watch, and Android Wear as a platform.

LG claims the G Watch will “define” the wearable category in the mobile market, and be one of the best looking modern smartwatches with a timeless look. The video touts things like “Sleek and lightweight for all-day comfort” and it being “Ready for anything, anytime with a single charge.”

Overall the video released today doesn’t reveal anything major, but does detail a few important key aspects and features of the LG G Watch. Many of which we’re expecting to also roll over into the Moto 360, which is also coming soon. Both smartwatches run Android Wear and are gaining attention from consumers, but LG’s continued releases and teasers such as the video below are helping to build excitement and consumer interest.

There are still a lot of unanswered questions regarding Android Wear and these upcoming smartwatches, but we’re expecting them all to be answered soon enough, or at Google’s annual developer event in late June. One big issue for all wearables is battery life, but here LG claims “ready for anything, anytime with a single charge.” Which leads us to believe the G Watch will have excellent battery life, but we’ll have to wait and see.

The video confirms it won’t be an all plastic device like original announcements suggested, and instead have a metal design around the bottom to keep it durable, and give it that “timeless” look they’re touting. The upcoming LG G3 smartphone will also have an aluminum-like design, so they’ll pair together quite well.

At the moment the details surrounding Android Wear and the G Watch are quite slim, with even Google being relatively quite on the subject. While we’ve seen a few very small and quick glances at the software and interface, nothing substantial has been shown.

The video above gives us a few more looks at the user interface, but nothing major. The details are still unknown, as Google and its partners continue to design and perfect the new software for wearable devices. Of course Android Wear will heavily rely on Google Now, the voice-controlled Siri-like competitor for Android. Only using the power of Google Search with Android it’s extremely flexible, customizable, and changeable.

We see Google Now with the weather and voice search in the main images revealed today, as well as the popular Airport notification popup LG has been using on all its promotional material, but that’s it.

For now the entire Android Wear project is still largely a mystery but more details should be arriving extremely soon. We’ve been hearing a July release date under $300 for the LG G Watch and Moto 360, but other reports suggest LG could launch at the end of June right along with the LG G3.

As a reminder, Google’s annual I/O developer event is scheduled for 2 days during the last week of June, which is where we expect the major Android and Android Wear announcements to be made. Google could be providing additional details on Android Wear while launching the LG G Watch from Google I/O. This means it could be up for sale from the Google Play Store and elsewhere before the end of June.

We’ll be on the lookout for more details regarding Android Wear and the LG G Watch, and will report back once we know more. Wearable devices are the next big push for mobile, and Google wants to lead the charge with Android Wear. Not to mention beat Apple to the smartwatch market.
