LG G6 vs LG G4: Specs

Of course being two years newer means the LG G6 will be a much better, faster and more powerful phone. That is to be expected. In fact, everything about this phone will be better. From the three cameras, faster charging, latest software and tons of other bells and whistles. For those who want a full breakdown, here's how the specs will compare.

LG G6 Specs

  • 5.7-inch 2880 x 1440 QHD+ IPS Display 18:9 aspect ratio
  • Snapdragon 821 Processor with 4GB of RAM
  • 32GB of storage and microSD card support
  • Android 7 Nougat with LG UI
  • Dual Rear 13MP cameras -- one is a wide angle camera
  • 8MP Front Camera with OIS and wide-angle
  • Improved Fingerprint Scanner
  • 3,300 mAh battery with Wireless Charging, Quick Charge, etc
  • USB Type-C Port, Always-On Display, 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Better Sound similar to the LG V20
  • IP68 Dust & Water Resistance
  • Premium Design
  • more

Those coming from an LG G4 will enjoy double the fingerprint scanner for improved security, faster charging with USB Type-C, and the Always-On Display from the LG G5 is my favorite software feature by far. You're missing all of that with the G4, and the dual cameras. The G6 will absolutely be worth buying.

LG G4 Specs

  • 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quantum HD Display
  • 6-core Snapdragon Processor with 3GB of RAM
  • 32GB of storage and a micro-SD Slot
  • 16 Megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus and optical image stabilization
  • 8 Megapixel Wide-angle front selfie camera
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • IR Sensor for Remote Control
  • 6 Genuine Leather backs, three plastic colors
  • 3,000 mAh battery
  • Micro-USB, no water resistance, slower charging

With the LG G6 you'll go down from a 6-core processor to a quad-core processor, but that means nothing. It will be faster, perform better, be more efficient, and games will look great. More isn't always better. This is one of the latest processors in the mobile market.

Users will lose the IR blaster remote control feature, and the leather back, but gain so much that it will be a good upgrade through and through.
