Verizon LG Optimus LTE2 Release Date Inches Closer

Published

We still have no idea when the Verizon LG Optimus LTE2 release date is or what the phone will be called when it arrives. However, we now know that the device’s release date has inched closer.

According to Droid-Life, a photo of what appears to be packaging material for the upcoming LG Optimus LTE2 appears to signal an imminent launch. The device listed on the sheet is the LG VS-930 which is heavily rumored to be Verizon’s version of the LG Optimus LTE2.

Neither LG nor Verizon has said anything in regards to the device leaving interested parties toiling in mystery. Still, it appears that an announcement could be close if the device is indeed shipping to the United States.

The Optimus LTE2 is, along with the Optimus 4X HD, LG’s answer to high-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC EVO 4G LTE.

In fact, it was announced on the same day that Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S III.

The LG Optimus LTE2 packs some pretty impressive hardware features including an eye-popping 2GB of RAM, a True IPS HD display, a large 2,150 mAh battery, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and the ability to wirelessly charge.

It’s unclear if those specifications will be making it to the Verizon version of the phone but we assume, for now, that they will.

As the name suggests, it will be headed to Verizon’s 4G LTE network which is the nation’s largest and offers data speeds that can reach up to 10 times faster than typical 3G networks.

4G LTE data speeds can be seen in the video above, showing off two 4G LTE enabled iPads facing off against each other.
