Loose Wires In This Review

Wiredtest-head-grayYeah, yeah, we’re all used to the mainstream media ignorning or missing the point about Tablet PCs and UMPCs. Wired Mag should know better though. They’ve published one of those roundup review articles where they look at different categories of PCs and mobile gear, putting them through various tests. Interesting omission in their Laptop roundup, as there is no category for Tablet PCs. Curiously they do have a category for Ultra-Mobile PCs, taking a look at the Asus R2H, the Samsung Q1, the TabletKiosk eo v7110, and the Sony UX180P. That’s a good thing, although reading some of the commentary makes you wonder about how much stock you should put in the results. As an example, regarding the Samsung Q1, they cite as a negative that you have to pull out the battrey to read it. ???? As Kevin Tofel says, what do they think it is, an eBook? Maybe they were wearing the Lights Out Sleep Mask they reviewed as a laptop accessory. And I guess expectations aren’t all that high for battery life, as the eo gets high marks for a whopping 1 hour and 50 minutes.

As long as they spell your name right? Not so sure.
