GameStop offers a midnight Destiny: The Taken King release date event at 12:01 AM Eastern. If you are on the west coast, or just outside of Eastern, you don’t need to wait until midnight local time. As soon as 12:01 AM Eastern arrives GameStop stores in other time zones will also start selling games. This means you can buy at 9:01 PM on September 14th on the west coast.

Walmart is participating in a major push for Destiny: The Taken King release with a special four-pack of Red Bull that includes a Mega XP Accelerator to level up faster in the new game.

There is no confirmation that Walmart plans any specific events, but with many stores open 24 hours there is a good chance that you can go to a Walmart and get Destiny: The Taken King at 12:01 AM on September 15th.

A few days later gamers can play The King’s Fall, a massive quest that arrives just after The Taken King. This secondary release arrives on September 18th at 10AM Pacific, 1PM Eastern.

    does that mean that we (on the west coast) can play it at 9:01 pm??

    The Taken King content doesn’t go live until 2am PDT or for me on the east coast 5am. So have fun waiting in line for a game you can play for 5 hours. I’ll stay with my digital edition
