So far battery life on the new Moto G has been surprisingly good. In fact, it's better than the Moto X from last year. The previous version had a small 2,000 mAh battery but a big 5-inch screen, and it didn't last too long.

This year, the Moto G has a bigger battery than last year, and even a bigger battery than the Moto X 2014 as well. They tossed in a large 2,470 mAh battery, and it's been enough to last well over 12 hours, more than enough for any busy 8-hour work day.

Motorola promises 24 hours of "mixed usage," which isn't saying much, but so far those claims are right on the spot. Light users can expect well over a day of usage, and maybe even 36 hours on a single charge.
