These are two of the most powerful smartphones on the planet, but the Galaxy S6 should be a little faster, at least on paper. However, there are a few key specs that users will want to consider, one being a micro-SD slot on the 2015 Moto X, and the bigger battery, to name a few. Here's the full breakdown for those interested.

Moto X (Pure Edition) Specs

  • 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD Display
  • 6-core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM
  • 16/32/64 GB of Storage with a Micro-SD slot for expandable storage
  • 21 Megapixel F2.0 Rear and 5 Megapixel Front Camera (front and rear LED flash)
  • 4k Video, HDR Video, Slo-Mo Video and more
  • Pure stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
  • Dual Stereo Sound front speakers
  • Aluminum Design
  • 3,000 mAh battery with the world’s fastest “TurboPower” charging
  • Unlocked with Universal 4G LTE (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc.)
  • Water-repellent coating
  • Customization with Rubber, Wood, Leather, Metallic Accents & more)

Galaxy S6 Specs
  • 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD Display
  • 8-core Samsung Exynos Processor with 3GB of RAM
  • 32/64/128GB with no SD card for expansion (this is key for many)
  • 16 Megapixel OIS Camera, 8 MP front facing camera (no front flash)
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop and Samsung TouchWiz UX
  • Aluminum & Glass Design
  • 2,550 mAh battery
  • Fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor, IR sensor, more
  • Hardware home button

The Galaxy S6 is smaller, more powerful, and should have a screen that's more crisp given the same resolution and smaller size. It als has a fingerprint scanner, a better front camera, and more storage options.

However, the Moto X has better dual front facing speakers, similar storage options AND a micro-SD slot to expand storage, a bigger display, a huge battery, tons of customization and is water-resistant.

Everyone has different needs or wants, and it all comes down to user preference. That said, these are the hard numbers. All said and done though, both of these will be extremely fast and smooth devices.

Thank you for a well-written comparison between two flagship phones. Furthermore, this article seems to be unbiased, which I highly appreciate, especially because so many articles on smartphones are impartial nowadays.

I stopped reading as soon as I came to this:
“We can’t give one a nod vs the other as I’ve yet to try the new Moto X, but the Galaxy S6 feels like one of the most premium smartphones available. It will be hard for Motorola to match that, even if buyers choose a wood or leather back to give it a premium feel.”

You write an article attempting to compare the phones head to head, but have no access to one of them.
That makes this article worthless and not much more than click-bait. Write it again when you get your hands on the new Moto X.

What? He said he can’t give a nod. Can you read?

Can you? Even writing an article attempting to compare two things when you don’t have one of them to make the comparison is useless. That was the point I made. Which you either ignored or missed. Wether they “give a nod” or not is irrelevant.

I have a brain but haven’t tried either phone. Someone who has tried them both should compare them not me or Cory Gunther. The audacity of Cory is beyond belief.
