Moto X Sale Ends In Disappointment for Some Users

Only minutes after it began, Motorola’s delayed Cyber Monday sale on its Moto X flagship device has ended and, unsurprisingly, users aren’t happy.

Excited buyers snapped up the promo codes that guaranteed users a Moto X at the heavily discounted price of just $349. That pricing didn’t include a two-year service agreement either. The Moto X regularly costs users $499 without a two-year service agreement.

Thankfully, Motorola will offer the deal one more time before it returns the Moto X to its regular price long-term. The company confirmed that it plans to offer more Moto X promo codes to users at noon on Monday, December 9th. Users who managed to snag a code today or hope to snag a code on Monday will need to enter that code after making their customized device online using Moto Maker.

Today’s quick sellout comes just days after Motorola’s plans to offer the Moto X at a discounted price were foiled by operational issues. Initially, Motorola announced that it would offer the Moto X for $349 this past Monday, however issues with its website forced Motorola to scrap the plans and offer the discounted deals today and Monday.

Users who don’t think they’ll be able to get a discount code and don’t mind a two-year contract can still pick up the Moto X for $99 from Verizon or for free with Sprint. The Moto X costs users just $49.99 on AT&T.

Although the Moto X’s internals are pretty competitive, it includes a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch display, it’s likely that users are clamoring to get their hands on the Moto X because of its extras.

Each Moto X comes equipped with a natural language processor that allows it to constantly listen and interpret voice commands. The device also includes an Active Display technology that surfaces notifications even when the device is off.

Dubbed Moto Maker, this website offers users a ton of color combinations and engraving options at no additional charge. Users also receive a matching pair of Motorola headphones too.
