Motorola Atrix 4G Update Rolling Out Tomorrow?

Published

on

It looks like that Motorola Atrix 4G update, you know the one that’s bringing HSUPA support, is going to be rolling out starting tomorrow, April 29th, at least according to an internal document that has risen to the surface.

Motorola Atrix 4G Update

The internal document plainly states, as you can see above, that Motorola will be releasing the update on April 29th, 2011 and right below that you can see some of the enhancements that we touched upon earlier today.

One of those enhancements is support for HSUPA speeds, something that AT&T promised, and Atrix owners have been waiting for since the release of the phone back at the end of February.

For those that can’t wait until tomorrow, there is also a way to get HSUPA support on your Atrix right now, but we advise you to just wait for the official update, 1.4.8.3, to roll out at some point tomorrow or maybe even late tonight if we’re lucky.

Cross your fingers that all goes well with the beta testers, otherwise, there is a definite possibility that release could be pushed back.

We’ve seen stranger.

Update: It appears that the update is already available, at least for some people. If it hasn’t hit your phone OTA, try this:

  1. Select the Settings icon in the main menu.
  2. Select “About phone”.
  3. Select “System updates”.
  4. Select “Download”.
  5. After the software is downloaded, select “Install”.
  6. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
  7. Your phone is now updated with v4.1.83 software.

Anyone seeing anything?

Update #2: You can manually install the update now.
