Motorola Droid 4 Launching on December 8th with the Galaxy Nexus?

Published

It would appear that Verizon is gearing up for another major December launch in the form of the Motorola Droid 4, a phone that has leaked out a few times already, and one that might be joining the Galaxy Nexus on shelves on December 8th.

Droid-Life has scored some documents that seem to suggest that this is exactly what Verizon has planned for December.

However, as many of you know, these dates are subject to change so it’s possible that something might come up between then and now.

Just to recap, the Droid 4 is rumored to include:

  • 4″ screen
  • Full 5-row “illuminated” keyboard
  • RAZR styling
  • 4G LTE
  • Non-removable battery
  • Android 2.3.5
  • 1080p video recording
  • Front camera
  • HDMI out
  • MotoACTV syncing

Those looking to get a Droid with 4G LTE and a keyboard should be pretty thrilled.

Those who bought the Motorola Droid 3 probably aren’t.

As a former D1 owner and current Bionic owner (excellent phone, but V-keyboards drive me nuts), I love the concept of the D4 so far. The lack of a replaceable battery is its only downside for me though.

Just because the inspiration isn’t the design aesthetic doesn’t mean
its not inspired by the RAZR…probably just marketing-speak for “we
ported the drive-train (processer, chipsets, board-architecture, and
peripherals) into a body which has a keyboard”
