Motorola Droid 4 Rumored to Have 4G LTE, Physical Keyboard

Published

on

The Motorola Droid 3 has only been out since July and there is, sadly, already talk of the Motorola Droid 4 aka Motorola Maserati going down. According to a tipster on Howard Forums, the Droid 4 is going to feature a slide-out keyboard and yes, it will be compatible with Verizon’s next-generation 4G LTE network, something that the Droid 3 should have had.

It apparently also has a display measuring in at around 4-inches and features a keyboard that lacks the usual d-pad. It’s also said to include a removable battery. Unfortunately, that’s all we have right now and quite frankly, I’m fine with that.

I doubt we see this phone until next year if  Motorola and Verizon stick to the usual cycle. Then again, you recall what happened with the launch of the Motorola Droid 2 last year.

The Droid 4 will apparently drop the d-pad.

Soon after Motorola and Verizon launched the Droid 2, they launched the Droid 2 Global with world capabilities and a faster processor. So, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them pull the same stunt this year with an 4G LTE edition.

I just wouldn’t count on it.

Im wondering whether the Droid 3 and the XT860 are the same hardware, but the Droid 3 has the 4G locked out or not activated. Just a thought.

droid 3 should of had at least 1 gig ram, 4g lte, and ice cream sandwich. that’s what it would have taken to replace my og droid 1. Now i’m waiting for the nexus/droid prime.

The Droid3 is a great device, and probably the perfect device for a heavy texter/messager that does not need top speed 4G connection.  Everything about it is high end, except that the 3G radio sticks out like a sore thumb among the top tier devices.  If another Droid version comes this year, it will probably be an update to the D3 maybe called D3 LTE or the like.  A brand new design will be coming early next year.

Well I just hope that it does have a d pad but on the left side of the keyboard. I like playing emulators. :)

Hope it comes out by July next year. AT&T contract is up, so it’ll be time to dump both the iPhone 4 and my carrier.
