Motorola Droid Bionic 2 Makes Its First Appearence

Published

on

Don’t look now but it appears that a device masquerading as the Motorola Droid Bionic 2 has appeared in Asurion’s enrollment form which signals one of two things. One, Motorola and Verizon are cooking up another Motorola Droid Bionic or two, this is a placeholder for a device in the future that will be called the Motorola Droid Bionic 2. The latter of the two seems most likely at this point.

Problem is, this is Motorola and Verizon that we’re talking about here.

The same companies that completely botched the Motorola Droid Bionic launch by releasing the Droid RAZR right afterwards. The same companies that launched the Droid 2 Global shortly after the Droid 2. And the same companies that released the Droid RAZR MAXX a few months after the Droid RAZR.

Anything is possible.

More likely though, this is just a placeholder for a future device or even, as Droid-Life points out, a reference to a 16GB Droid Bionic that will come with a cheap price tag and without a microSD card.

Motorola and Verizon did that with the original Droid RAZR and may end up doing that for the Droid Bionic in the future.

My issues with the Droid Bionic launch and release are very public and I sincerely hope that Motorola and Verizon aren’t really planning on releasing a sequel to the Droid Bionic this soon after launch.

But again, look at who we’re dealing with here and you’d know why my blood pressure already is on the rise.

How do you guys feel about the possibility of a Droid Bionic 2 in the future?

Guess it will be out in oh say September… Not interested this time. Only interested in the SGIII and the iPhone 5 to possibly replace my GNex. Where the heck is the GNex update anyway?

I dont get the complaining about the Raze launch after the Bionic. The Bionic got delayed for months, but I think it would be pretty stupid to then delay everything else they do just for that. Plus spy shots of the Raze were floating around the net on blogs months before the Bionic launched…if you’re a bionic owner who got mad when the Razr launched you really just weren’t doing your homework and have no one to blame but yourself.

Anyway I got a 16 gig Bionic right now. Its been performing wonderfully so far(knock on wood).
Anyway new devices better than mine were bound to come out at some point even if wasn’t Motorola who makes them. So I don’t really care if they call one of them “Bionic 2” or not.

I guess my bionic is jealous. The autocorrect turned all my razr into razes

Look, the Droid Bionic I am writing this with is a twice-baked half-idea that still isn’t done. The Bionkc 2? Anything would be an improvement.
