Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD Rumors Squashed

Published

It looks like the rumors about a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD were unfounded as another report claims that a device with that name won’t be coming out after all.

PhoneArena has received more information about the Motorola Droid RAZR HD and it appears that while that device will be hitting shelves later this year, the rumored Droid RAZR MAXX HD is just that, a rumor.

A report earlier this week claimed that a Droid RAZR MAXX HD would be coming out with the Droid RAZR HD this October. The details where light which led us to remain extremely skeptical about two Droid RAZR HD branded devices.

The Droid RAZR HD will apparently not have a Droid RAZR MAXX HD brother.

Now, it looks as though that phone was just vapor and the Droid RAZR HD will indeed be coming out in either October or November with the same rumored 2,530 mAh battery that was revealed by FCC documents.

As for the rest of the Droid RAZR HD, it’s said to include a number of the features that have been rumored in the past. A dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, an 8MP camera instead of a 12-13MP camera, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and a microSD card slot.

It’s said to have a 4.6-inch HD display with ColorBoost technology, the same technology found on the Motorola Atrix HD. This is the first time we’ve seen its specific screen size mentioned.

So, it would appear that those hoping for a Droid RAZR MAXX HD with a large 3,300 mAh battery are going to be out of luck, at least for the time being. There is always a chance that Motorola decides to unleash a new device at CES 2012 much in the same way it unleashed the Droid RAZR MAXX after the Droid RAZR’s launch.

At this point though, it’s probably time to stop holding in a breath.

Those looking to get the regular old Droid RAZR HD should circle October or November in pencil at this point.
