Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX Price Dropping Tomorrow?

Published

on

It appears that the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX price drop at Verizon, which was rumored to be in the works last week, may end up taking place tomorrow.

We have received a tip from someone familiar with Verizon’s plans who states that the price of the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX, one of the most popular Android phones on the market, will take place tomorrow, May 14th.

Update: The Droid RAZR MAXX Price has Dropped

The phone will apparently be discounted to $199.99 on-contract, as was rumored, which is a full $100 off its normal retail price of $299.99 on-contract.

Unfortunately, the source doesn’t know exactly how long the offer is going to last for so it could be a day, it could be a couple of days, it could be a couple of weeks, or, who knows, maybe Verizon will decide to permanently drop the price of the Droid RAZR MAXX in order to better compete with its competitors.

AT&T is currently offering up the HTC One X, its latest Android flagship device for a mere $199.99 on-contract while Sprint is offering up its two flagship 4G LTE devices, the HTC EVO 4G LTE and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for $199.99 as well.

The Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX has been one of the best selling Android phones on the market as it features a massive battery packed into a slim design.

It should also become a much better device once Motorola and Verizon are able to roll out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the device.

Should the price drop occur tomorrow, it won’t come as much of a surprise. Verizon is poised to launch at least one new Android phone in the future in the Droid Incredible 4G LTE.

It might also be launching a phone called the Motorola Droid Fighter.

The Droid Fighter is said to be the Motorola Droid RAZR HD which means 720p resolution. There is also talk of the phone possibly having the same 3,300 mAh battery that the Droid RAZR MAXX employs.

Thanks, Chris!

Was able to upgrade thru verizon with 2 year extended contract to the new razr. Total cost was $32.40, which was added to my bill. Ask for the 150.00 special(which has since gone to $199) for $150.00 with 100.00 off and 50.00 mail in rebate, which was immediately applied. After dealing with a citrus piece of crap, im looking forward to this phone. No problems with verizon, they even gave me the$ 150.00 special.
