Motorola Xoom Tablet Priced at $799?

Published

on

If true, this is a wrong move. Android Central has uncovered data that lists the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) of the Motorola Xoom Tablet at $799. I would assume that is before any subsidy. Even so, in my view that’s steep for a Tablet in this day and age.

Agreed and I would add that $250. for the Thunderbolt is expensive also, unless all the 4G Android phones are coming out at that price.

    I could not agree more.
That is at least $300 too high.

Knowing apple, I suspect ipad v2 will be about $50 cheaper than current and add features. Everybody and their brother knows it will have cameras at the very least.

Engadget has a new tip of a $700 price now. I still say it is too much by a couple hundred.

Minimum advertised price and that it is listed with other devices at their subsidized prices leads me to believe this is the post-subsidy price or actual list price if there is no subsidy. It is competitive with the iPad with 3G and 32 GB storage, but only if there’s no two-year contract.

I agree it is close to the iPad 3g with 32GB. I think for the size of the Xoom that this is a reasonable price for it. The display is what has me interested in it. I work at DISH Network and currently use my G2 with my Sling Adapter hooked up to my VIP 722k and the DISH Remote Access app (DRA) to watch live streaming content anywhere I have a 3g or wifi connection. It is a great app and anyone looking into the Xoom so take a look at it at DISH.com and search TV Everywhere.
