New Details on the Droid RAZR & Droid RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich Bug Fix Update

Published

on

We have received some more information in regards to the upcoming Motorola Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich bug fix updates that owners badly need.

Gotta Be Mobile has been informed that the bug fix updates for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX, which aim to take care of the many bugs that currently plague the devices, might not roll out until September.

Originally, we had been told that Verizon was aiming for the middle of August but it appears that that deadline will unfortunately come and go without any sort of fix.

It’s not because of a lack of trying though. Instead, we’re being told that the progress has been slow because of the shear amount of bugs that came along with Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ice Cream Sandwich relief may not come for Droid RAZR owners until September.

Apparently, both Motorola and Verizon were surprised by the amount of bugs that came with the update and that has led to the update taking longer than expected.

Remember, Motorola and Verizon decided to roll out the update on the last possible day in the promised release window and it would appear that the updates were still riddled with issues.

We’ve heard, specifically, that the first soak test for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR ICS bug fix updates will out in the very beginning of September.

Again, this is a target and isn’t set in stone.

Owners should take consolation in the fact that these updates should squash a good majority of the bugs that have been terrorizing these devices since the end of June.

We’ve heard from multiple Droid RAZR MAXX owners who have not had access to email on this phone ever since the upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Other owners have been complaining their screen locks up, that apps on the home page keep disappearing, and that using My Gallery, one of the photo features on the phones, has become such a disaster that it has become unusable.

To be sure, it’s a mess and one that unfortunately might not get fixed until September, barring a miracle.

Hope it is soon. Gingerbrd. was good but ICS has so many issues. Called VZW Tech and their answer was to reboot in safe mode. Not good for a top of the line phone and phone company. Did a factory reset and it helped a little. But do not like the idea that it is up to the paying customers to have to come up with a solution that makes them have to reset their phones again. Would love a roll back to Ginger but can’t be done. Why????

Wondered about a factory reset also. Guess not a great idea? Warned Husband about this fiasco, has not allowed it to install! At least one of us still has a useable phone! And I’m the one w/the RAZR Maxx!

Too bad I can’t see the video on this page… I could before the ICS… does that give you an indication of other problems I have? Great phone b4 the upgrade.. but I wish I knew the flashplayer was no longer going to be updated. That set the Motorola phones apart from the trash called iPhone.. so now what to do… tablet? No…

***Flash has to be downloaded from the market once you have ICS.
**The only problem i’ve had is when my media volume doesnt work…to fix i have to go into the sound settings and move the media volume slider…then presto!

I’m sick of hearing “just download flash”…1st it’s no longer available in the play store…2nd it simply does not work with rhe razr ics. Yes i downloaded flash and air, facrory reset, clear cache, etc…. flash will NOT olay embedded video in any browser.

My razor ran well before I had the misfortune of upgrading to ICS. Many functions no longer work. I spent hours trying to get a call back from level three support. Got nothing from them but the run-around. very disappointed that they would put out such a horribly inferior operating system. They should learn that if something isn’t broken don’t try to fix it. Motorola gets an F on ICS.

You people are lame. All you wanted was ics, you chanted, you cried, you called for the heads to roll unless you got 4.0. Now you have it and you bitch? Shut up its a phone

good, I thought I was the only one having video problems, I even had Verizon ship me a replacement phone and the videoes play a little better but then they’ll freeze too — I’m ready for a new release to fix these problems — loved the Razr before though

I believe the whole ICS thang is a Marketing Ploy on Verizon’s part. They don’t give a crap about the original droid razr users. All they want to do now is to push the razr HD phones…WTF Verizon, get your heads out of your assh&&*()(*)(*’s. I pay you on time every frigan month, so I should have Jelly Bean by now. Before it’s released to the masses it too will be outdated just like ICS is..IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No mobiletv.net, my premium subscriptions for news do not work, and other video issues. Cursor won’t go where I put it 1/2 the time.
