Fujitsu has just annoucned a new model in its ultra-portable line, the LifeBook B6210 Touch Screen Notebook. It can be ordered with the Tablet PC OS or just XP Pro. Equipped with the Tablet OS, the price is $50 higher coming in at $1649 instead of $1599.

You’ll notice that the B6210 isn’t a typical Tablet PC as it includes no swivel screen and the digitzer is passive rather than touch. From the press release it looks to be aimed at vertical markets. It would be interesting to know if the unit will ship with DialKeys and/or RitePen similar to the the Fujitsu P1510D. Although it appears that it doesn’t ship with a stylus as far as I can tell in the specs.

Fujitsu has been a real market leader in developing some interesting hardware solutions that utilize touchscreens and the Tablet OS. Recall that the P1510D was first released without the Tablet OS, and then that was later added after Microsoft began including touchscreen technology as a part of the Tablet PC/Mobile PC picture. It will be interesting to see how this unit plays in the market place, although admittedly it is not one that will figure in my picture.
