New Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat updates have been spotted ahead of release as another carrier has now confirmed both Android 4.4 KitKat updates for arrival at some point in the future.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat updates have been rolling out at an incredible pace. The two updates, which started pushing out earlier this year, have been hitting devices left and right in the United States and abroad. And from the looks of things, their torrid pace is going to continue.

We’ve seen a number of confirmations in recent days and today, we have two more. Vodafone Australia today confirmed its Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S4 Cat 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat updates for arrival in the future. The carrier does not point out any specific dates for their release but it says that it now has testing scheduled.

The carrier also confirms another Android 4.4 KitKat update in the form of a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update. Samsung recently confirmed the Galaxy Note 2 for the U.S. and Poland and it looks like Vodafone will join Optus, its Australian counterpart, in offering the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update remains missing in action. The Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update has become a flashpoint for users given that Samsung Poland has said that it will not be rolling out an update for the 1GB version of the Galaxy S3. The international GT-i9300 sports 1GB which could mean that many Galaxy S3 models miss out on Android 4.3.

More recently, Samsung Arabia said that it currently has no plans for a GT-i9300 Android 4.4 KitKat update. This doesn’t confirm its absence but it certainly muddies the waters.

All three of Vodafone’s Android 4.4 KitKat updates should mirror the updates that we’ve seen push out over the last few weeks. Samsung’s Android 4.4 KitKat updates are not chock full of changes to TouchWiz but instead are full of Android 4.4 KitKat features. Features include emoji support and a new way to switch from the default messaging app to Hangouts.

In the United States, only three major updates remain. AT&T and Verizon have yet to roll out their Android 4.4 KitKat upgrades for the Galaxy Note 3 while Verizon’s Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update remains missing in action.

We have heard that Verizon has the Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat in internal testing at the moment, something that would give it it a leg up on Vodafone, but we’re still unable to confirm a release date. We do expect these updates to push out within the next few weeks though as carriers work to catch one another.

This is an Android issue not Samsung.

Still waiting on verizon to push out kitkat for my note 3. I know it takes a while for them to pack it with bloatware and try to find ways to lock down bootloaders, blah blah blah.
I would assume that in the next couple of years samsung would start doing their own otas like apple does, they are big enough to do it.

When your Android won’t sign into your wifi make your password 8 characters or more. Samsung Androids won’t allow a password less than 8 characters. Also many home routers have a ‘hard wired’ password. Look this up in its documentation and it should work. It did for me.
