New OneNote Add On: Canvas for OneNote

Published

on

The folks at OneNote are showing off a new add on that got developed by the folks at Office Labs. That’s the new home of former OneNote Wonder Chris Pratley so the blood lines are pretty solid here. Anyway, Canvas for OneNote lets you take a birds eye view of your notes in a notebook, allowing you to zoom in and out of a section.  It’s a free download and you can pick it up here. You’ll need to running Vista and OneNote 2007 for this to work.

I’m setting this up now as I blog this and a couple of things of note: During the setup you have to choose one of your Notebooks to work with. After that it takes awhile for the program to grab the info and make the thumbnails.

Thanks for sharing this to Daniel Escapa and the OneNote Team. Check out a video demo after the break.

Sounded good at first glance and I had the hope to able to work more with Onenote. But that XP is not supported is a “Nogo” in my opinion, so back to Bluebeam PDF Revu. ;-)

What I really, really like here is having an easy way to put two pages of notes side-by-side without having to go through a bunch of steps to open a new window, etc. Smooth.

This is cool, but would be even more so with multitouch
