Nexus 5 & Android 4.4 KitKat Announcement Possible Today (Update 2)
Google could announce the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 this morning at a special live stream event.
Update 2: Nexus 5 & Android 4.4 KitKat Update MIA at Google Event
Update: added the Morning with Google+ livestream video.
A Morning with Google+ is scheduled to start at 12:30 Eastern, 9:30 AM Pacific, with a live stream of the event where, “The Google+ team will be sharing a few updates.”
Initially this looked like just another Google event that would steal some of the hype around the Nexus 5 release and the Android 4.4 update announcement, but a leak and a post from Vic Gundotra the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Google, point to something that is bigger than Google+.

In a post to Google+ this morning Gundotra used the hashtag #momentsthatmatter. This is the same phrase that appeared on a Nexus 5 pre-registration page for Canadian carrier Wind Mobile. The carrier is no longer showing the page, but the wording is spot on as shown in this screen capture from Android Police.
This also lines up with the tagline for the Nexus 5 from the Google Play Store leak, which focuses on capturing moments that matter, whether they are epic or ordinary. The Google Play Store description for the Nexus 5 was,
“Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways.”
While not an outright confirmation, the focus on taking great photos lines up with the rumored 8MP camera with optical image stabilization and sharing them clearly falls within the Google+ realm of Google. Google+ auto enhances photos uploaded to the service, delivering impressive results.
Gundotra is in charge of Google’s mobile phone apps and developer efforts. The latest Android updates and features shifted from major system enhancements that take forever to arrive due to carrier holdups and manufacturer testing and into major app updates that come to users almost immediately after the announcement.

The Android 4.4 KitKat update’s slogan is, “It’s our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody.” This leads many to speculate that we could see faster features rolled out via apps and possibly the Android 4.4 KitKat update will lay the rest of the groundwork for a new plan to deliver features to users faster.
The Morning with Google event will live stream on the Google+ page and so far 23,000 users are RSVP’d to what may be the Nexus 5 announcement. At this point there is a lot of dot connecting, and this may just be Google leveraging the Nexus 5 hype, so don’t get your hopes up too high.

No N5 release, but I’m pretty pleased with the G+ updates and that the Hangouts app will be mixed in with SMS

Typical Google…Create the hype then let everyone feel let down and duped….just like the launch of the first nexus 7 where the highest spec was 16gb at £199 then launch a new 32gb model within such a short period at the same price making those that bought the 16gb (as it was meant to be the best that would be available in the nexus 7 range).. feel duped with an instant decrease in value and the only option of having to pay £199 all over again to get the best in the series

I hope they have a white nexus 5. Like In some leaks with a black front black sides and a white back. I hate having a white front on a phone. Only way to know is to just wait :-)

Love how everyone is saying its Google hyping everyone up, it is the MARKET and other websites hyping it up, Google has done NOTHING official hype or not so dunno why you are all blaming Google for something they are clearly not at fault for.
Just because you want it to be, doesn’t make it true.

Truth be told that the average joe will face 3 to 5 legal situations yearly. In simple fact, 50% coming from all households have a very pressing authorized situation right this moment. Yet, the normal attorney expenses around $300 by the hour, which forces a lot of people to have to generate a choice involving eating along with legal support. It’s zero wonder why most of the people find the idea cheaper for you to just get tricked rather than check out an law firm, but you’ll find options offered.
