Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Google's new version of Android that will replace Android 5.1 Lollipop is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and it will debut on the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. However, it will also start rolling out to the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player starting on October 5th. That could mean the new Nexus 5X will ship on October 5th, but that isn't confirmed. We know it will be available for pre-order on the 29th, but we're not sure when they'll ship. Google does promise a much better release, with tons of stock available, and a store that will handle the release, rather than crash like it did with the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and even the Nexus 6 release. We'll see.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings tons of new features to the table. Permission controls, Fingerprint support, Google Now on Tap, Android Pay, Doze battery saving features, and much more. This Android 5.1 vs Android 6.0 walkthrough has a few details for those interested, and we'll learn all the final features come tomorrow.

The big day is September 29th, so stay tuned.
