The Nexus 6 features a new design complements of Motorola and a large 5.9-inch Quad HD display like we see on the Note 4 and LG G3. Motorola’s Nexus 6 looks like a larger Moto X 2014, thanks to the bigger display that is tucked inside a metal frame with a curved back.

Nexus 6 Pre-Order Start Time
There is no official Nexus 6 pre-order start time listed, but thanks to past pre-orders and normal practices we know about what time you can count on pre-orders to start.
Be ready for Nexus 6 pre-orders to start at 10 AM Pacific, 1 PM Eastern. This is a fairly common time for announcements and kick offs from companies based in California.
It’s very possible that the Nexus 6 pre-order start time will be slightly later at 11 AM Pacific, 2PM Eastern. This is around when the Nexus 5 pre-orders started.
Although Google can set the Nexus 6 pre-order start for whenever it wants, these are the most likely times.
Nexus 6 in Stock Alerts
You can follow n6stock on Twitter to get notifications when the Nexus 6 pre-orders start. This same account provided fast updates when the Nexus 5 went on sale last year and the account is, “Locked and loaded!” for the Nexus 6.
— n6stock (@n5stock) October 29, 2014
The account is @n5stock, but it is ready for the Nexus 6 release. You can follow on Twitter just like any other account, or turn on text alerts to get a text whenever the account tweets. This is the best option if you want a Nexus 6 in stock alert.
From your phone;
- Text 40404
- Login, or reply with a new username (that doesn’t exist)
- Text ‘ON n5stock’
That’s all there is to do. You should get a text message when the Nexus 6 is in stock on Google Play.
Know What Nexus 6 You Want
When the Nexus 6 pre-orders start, you’ll have a limited amount of time to place your pre-order before the device is out of stock. Last year the Nexus 5 sold out for release day delivery within 49 minutes, and it would not be a surprise to see this again.
While you wait, decide what color Nexus 6 you want and how much storage you need. Color is an easy choice for many users, especially with the ability to add a case to change the color later.
Storage on the other hand is something you’ll need to think about. There is no Micro SD card slot, so whatever size you choose is the size you’ll have until you upgrade to a new phone. The 32GB option is $649 off contract an the 64GB is $699 off contract. Google Play does not offer any on-contract options.
Make sure your Google Wallet information is up to date with the right credit card so you can check out quickly and decide if you will pay $10 or so extra for faster shipping.
Nexus 6 Release Date Remains MIA
Even as pre-orders start we don’t know the Nexus 6 release date for carriers, or when delivery is planned for the Nexus 6 Google Play Store version. Assuming you choose fast shipping, the Nexus 6 could arrive on your doorstep by Friday or Monday. This makes sense for a fast Nexus 6 release on the Play Store.
The Nexus 6 release date for carriers is still MIA with Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile listing the Nexus 6 as coming soon. There is no mention of the Verizon Nexus 6 on the company website, which makes sense considering their focus on the Droid Turbo. We’ve heard November 12th for the T-Mobile Nexus 6 release date, but it’s not clear if it is in store and online yet.
The Nexus 6 cleared the FCC, so it is ready for a release. At this point it’s all up to the carriers as to when you can go buy a Nexus 6 in store.
