Nexus 6 Release Pre-Orders Begin

Published

Google’s fancy new Nexus 6 smartphone which was announced earlier this month is set to hit multiple carriers in the United States in early November, but the release date is still a mystery for most. As expected though, this morning Google opened up Nexus 6 pre-orders and the phone is available now for buyers.

The company revealed the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 tablet, Nexus Player and the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update all earlier this month and finally put months of rumors to rest. The Nexus 9 hits stores on November 3rd after pre-orders earlier this month, and now the same is about to kick off for the Nexus 6.

Last week Google confirmed Nexus 6 Pre-orders will kick off on October 29th from the Google Play Store, but buyers are still wondering what to expect from carriers in the United States, and what they’ll charge on contract. We still don’t know all the details yet, but if you’re interested in grabbing the new phone, Google Play pre-orders are available now and likely won’t last long.

The Nexus 6 pre-order start time is not confirmed, but expect it at 10 AM or 11 AM Pacific.

The Nexus 6 release date is still unknown, but the phone has officially cleared the FCC and is all clear for a release whenever carriers and Google get around to making it available.

Navigating to Google’s online Play Store users can pre-order the new Nexus 6 starting right now, but this is for the true unlocked model right from Google, rather than any specific carrier. This will unsure you’re one of the first to get Google’s Nexus 6 once it’s released, but you better hurry as pre-orders won’t last long. Last year the Nexus 5 sold out for release day delivery within 49 minutes, and it would not be a surprise to see this again. That being said, we’re still not sure on the actual release date, but the Play Store has the Nexus 6 shipping in 3-4 weeks.

Users can grab the impressive Nexus 6 in two different color options, as well as two storage configurations, but it doesn’t come cheap like previous Nexus smartphones. You’ll have your choice between Midnight Blue or Cloud White, in 32 or 64GB storage options. The Nexus 6 is priced at $649 for the 32GB model, and $699 for the 64GB version. This is off contract, and carriers will be offering on-contract pricing soon.

As a reminder the Nexus 6 is the biggest, fastest, and likely the best Nexus smartphone ever released. It offers a huge 5.96-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD display, a powerful quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and an improved 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization for excellent photos and video.

The Nexus 6 runs the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, which was just announced earlier this month and will debut on the Nexus 9 tablet, and has a lot to offer. More details regarding Android 5.0 and what’s new can be found below.

The Google Play Store is currently only showing stock for the 32GB version of the Nexus 6, with the 64GB option still listed as coming soon, but we’re seeing reports that both are available for those interested.

As expected, Google’s storefront is having a few issues and the Nexus 6 keeps going in and out of stock almost every few seconds. Get it now, and hopefully we’ll learn more about the “ships in 3-4 weeks” details being provided. We’ll update once we know more from carriers.
