This Could Be the Nexus 7 2

A photo that has emerged along with a Bluetooth filing for the Asus K009, a device thought to be the LTE version of the Nexus 7 2, has come along with something more intriguing than a processor leak: A possible Nexus 7 2 photo, that while small, shows what the device could look like when it arrives on shelves later this year.

Google is heavily rumored to be delivering a new Nexus tablet later this year, a tablet that is currently thought to be called the Nexus 7 2. The device heated up last week as two devices dubbed K008 and K009 passed through FCC and certifications on their way to shelves. Interestingly, the K009 filing included a note about how it would be marketed under the Nexus brand, leading many to assume that they device is the new Nexus 7 2.

While that hasn’t been confirmed yet, new evidence suggests that the device will indeed look similar to the original Nexus 7. A Bluetooth filing for the Nexus 7 2 not only shows off a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor but also shows a small picture of what appears to be the K009 in the wild. Assuming this is the real deal and there is little doubt that it is, this could be the first real Nexus 7 2 photo.

The photo, which has since been taken down but was preserved by Android Central, is extremely small and doesn’t reveal much other than a design that looks similar to the original Nexus 7 and what appears to be a front-facing camera attached to the front in the same place where it was for the Nexus 7.

A new report claims the new Nexus 7 will arrive in July.

The Nexus 7 2 looks like it could resemble the Nexus 7.

Other than that, this is a table that is looking like the original Nexus 7, something that wouldn’t be shocking to see. Interested consumers though will need to take this lightly as Google has not yet confirmed anything and it’s possible that we could see something change between the filing and the actual launch of the device.

The K009, and thus, the Nexus 7 2, is expected to have some powerful features on board including a 5MP rear camera, 1.9MP front-facing camera, 4,000 mAh battery, and a 7-inch display that likely sports 1080p resolution.

It’s also said to have 4G LTE data speeds on board, something that the original Nexus 7 did not have.
