Nite Ize Steelie Vent Mount: Magnetic Car Mount

Published

on

The Nite Ize Steelie Vent Mount Kit is an affordable magnetic car mount for the iPhone, Android and other smartphones that keeps the iPhone in reach and allows the user to change from portrait to landscape and adjust the tilt of your phone to just the right angle.

Nite Ize makes a large variety of accessories including the QuikStand and the earlier Steelie Mount Kit that the Vent mount is based on. Although you may not be as familiar with this name as other accessory makers, the quality of this simple and elegant car mount is top-notch.

The Nite Ize Steelie Vent Clip is attractive, easy to carry to a new vehicle and versatile.

Instead of mounting a Steelie to your car in one spot with 3M adhesive, you can stick this in the vent for a less permanent solution. This is a great option for users who are in and out of rental cars, or who just want something that isn’t going to stick to their dash.

The Steelie Vent Mount Kit is $35 to $40 with the steel ball vent mount clip and one Steelie Magnetic Phone Socket. You don’t need a specific device to use this mount, but there is a special iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus case that includes the magnetic phone socket that attaches to your phone or to any case. The magnetic phone mount part attaches with a 3M VHB foam adhesive.

You can buy a case, or stick the mount on the back of almost any phone.

This car mount keeps the phone in place with 10 pounds of force and it definitely stayed on the mount during our hands on. The movement from portrait to landscape and from one angle to another is smooth and fluid. There are a variety of other mounts including the stick on one place Steelie Mount Kit and a stand mount for your desk.

Rear and bottom speakers 100 percent suck. That is all.
