With mobile video gaming picking up steam, video game developer Gameloft is dropping a bombshell on massive multiplayer online role-playing games loves. This morning the company confirmed what iPhone, Android and Windows Phone gamers have wanted for years now: an Order & Chaos 2 release.

Gameloft confirmed the Order & Chaos 2 release this morning, providing some very limited information about the game and a short teaser video about the game’s story. Officially the game is called, Order & Chaos 2: Redemption, a hint that the series characters are after a way to make amends for what happened in Order & Chaos Online, the latest game in the series that racked up 12 million downloads, according to Gameloft.

In the video included with today’s Order & Chaos 2 release confirmation we see a warrior in gold and red armor of the screen. As a voice over he lends more context for the game’s story. As the “Redemption” subtitle suggests, Order & Chaos 2 is indeed about putting things right. The voice over in the video says that he and others “thought they were saving the world.” He concludes that they “were all deceived.” Next we see this same figure wielding a hammer and breaking a glowing orb into pieces.

The trailer ends with the Order & Chaos 2 title card. Instead of a release date, Gameloft only notes that the Order & Chaos 2 release is coming soon. A new registration site for the game arrived along side the trailer. Registering early gets users +10ps toward their character. Tweeting or sharing the news with Facebook and Twitter friends gets users even more.

The pre-registration site also includes some additional information about the game. The points that users earn can for doing all of this goes towards power-ups detailed ahead of the game’s release. Dream Fragments will let Order & Chaos 2 players harness dreams for their character for rewards. Gameloft is also giving away Experience Potions, the Gem of Luck and Vigor Elixir. The Elixir completely restores a character and requires the most points.

Gameloft wants those excited for the Order & Chaos 2: Redemption release to follow its Facebook page for the latest information. The studio plans on releasing more information about the game slowly there.

The press release includes some more details about the game’s story. “In the eyes of the gods, there is no time, no judge, no order, and no chaos,” the passage begins. “Everything is eternal and there is only existence. Our lives are part of a cycle. We must experience what we can and learn from it.”

The hammer we see in the Order & Chaos 2: Redemption trailer is Khalin’s Hammer, and artifact found at the end of Order & Chaos: Online. The character in the trailer is destroying the Primal Heart, under the false belief that it’ll solve the world’s problems. It didn’t. Instead, the move “led to a cataclysmic event that destroyed the world, with the heroes dying one after the other.” In Order & Chaos 2: Redemption the heroes are back to finish what they didn’t get right the first time.

The Order & Chaos 2: Redemption release date could be the biggest mobile game launch we see all year. Since the last game’s release, the number of mobile gamers on all platforms has only grown. Besides the Oder & Chaos 2 release date, Gameloft hasn’t said how it will handle upgrades from the original game. It also hasn’t clarified whether the game will be available on all the platforms the original was at launch. Order & Chaos Online is available on iOS, Android and Windows. The Windows version of the game has Xbox Live achievements.

I believe it to be new characters. It says in the thingy that the world was destroyed and the heroes were killed. This means our characters are all gonna die, sadly.
