Rumor: OSX 10.6.2 to Shut Down Atom Support

Published

on

Watch out all you Hackinstoshers out there. Rumors are circulating that Apple is going to pull the plug on (or put in a patch) that will prevent OSX from running on Atom chipsets with the latest update to its operating system (OSX 10.6.2).  While the excitement over running Apple’s OS on a Netbook seems to have died down of late, I’m sure there are some out there who are still doing so. Of course if you want to hang on to your Hackintosh system, then don’t do an update.

I wonder if this is a sign that Apple is about to introduce a device that they feel will compete with netbooks?

@TateJ, that’s the most logical conclusion with all the tablet rumors floating around.

But I really think it’s the fact they just don’t like Hackintosh computers.
