U.S. Cellular users will finally be able to pick up a phablet soon. The carrier has announced plans to add the gargantuan Samsung Galaxy Mega to the lineup of smartphones it offers users.

According a press release by the company, U.S. Cellular customers can look forward to picking up the Galaxy Note alternative for just $149.99 when it debuts on the network’s website tomorrow – as long as they’re willing to sign up for a two-year service agreement. Users who live near one of the company’s stores will be able to pick up the device in-store on Thursday, September 19th.

The company says that device will come equipped with 4G LTE compatibility, so that users can take advantage of the network’s enhanced data speeds. Potential users will only be able to pick up the device in its Nova Black color variant.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega come with a big screen, but leaves room for a Note 3 on AT&T.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega will debut this week on U.S. Cellular.

Today’s announcement comes just weeks after AT&T and Samsung announced that the Galaxy Mega would be available on that carrier for $149.99. Although many reports initially pegged the device is as competitor to Samsung’s own Galaxy Note 3, in reality the device’s internal components and lack of compatibility with Samsung’s S-Pen stylus leave much to be desired. With its 6.3-inch 720p display, WatchOn television control technology and dual-core processors, it’s much more of a larger screened Samsung Galaxy S4.

By comparison the Samsung Galaxy S4’s 5-inch screen is fully capable of playing 1080p videos and has a quad-core processor.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega’s other internal specifications include 1.5GB of RAM, 8 GB of on-board storage with the option to add more using an SD card, a front-facing 1.9 megapixel camera and a rear-facing 8 megapixel camera.

While most of the device’s internals are a downgrade from the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, most of the features specific to high-end Android devices are still there. That includes multi-window app multitasking support, the WatchOn television remote app to control the device’s built-in IR emitter and the option to make the device easily accessible with Samsung’s Easy Mode interface. All of this is running on top of Android 4.2.2.

In addition to AT&T and U.S. Celluar, the Samsung Galaxy Mega is also due to launch on Sprint, however the carrier hasn’t announced specific availability or pricing just yet.
