Samsung Galaxy Note 2 & Galaxy S3 Get S Voice Upgrade From Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 owners can install the latest version of S Voice from the Samsung Galaxy S4 without waiting for an official Samsung release thanks to a leaked installation file.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a new version of S Voice that includes a car mode called S Voice Drive, but it’s not clear if there are other improvements.

We have the Galaxy S4 version of S Voice running on a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it reportedly works on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as well. The app may not run on all various Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note 2 ROMS, but the stock devices should work fine. The Samsung Galaxy S4 S Drive app even works on the Nexus 4.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 S voice apk installation file arrives care of SamMobile which is processing a system dump of Galaxy S4 files that also resulted in the Samsung Galaxy S4 demo videos from this morning.

S Voice is a voice control feature for the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S4. This Galaxy S4 S Voice.apk file allows users to install the new version on several compatible devices. On Samsung devices the new version of S Voice installs on top of the existing version. Users must turn on installing apps from unknown sources for this to work.

From there, download the S Voice.apk and install like any other app.

Other than S Voice Drive and a new icon it’s not clear how many new features the Samsung Galaxy S4 S Voice app delivers. In our short time with the new version it appears to speak more information and deliver more information at once, specifically when asking it what the weather is.

The S Voice app runs fine on the Nexus 4 and is running OK on the Samsung Galaxy S3, but there are occasional force quits on the Galaxy S3. The good news is users can roll back to the previous version of S Voice by uninstalling the update.

To do this, open Settings -> Application manager -> S Voice -> Uninstall updates – > Tap OK.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 arrives next month on several carriers and in the U.S. in May. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 are rumored to get some Galaxy S4 software features in a future update.

    Samsung says it’ll provide ALL FEATURES of S4 to SIII and NOTE II. Now there won’t be much difference after this. So S-Voice or hovering etc – Every Samsung phone will be identical. Here’s the Samsung’s statement:
