Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Surfaces in Possible Render

Published

on

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has seen its launch date set and many features leak to the surface, one thing that hasn’t leaked out is the Galaxy Note 2 itself. However, it would appear that a render has come to the surface today and it’s possible that it could be the Galaxy Note 2 in the flesh.

Engadget is reporting that a render recently surfaced on the Samsung Pakistan Facebook page and it appears to be of an unreleased device. The device was labeled as Samsung Galaxy S III but it’s clearly not the phone that Samsung launched back in May of this year.

Instead, it’s another beast entirely and it definitely could be the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, though, at this point, there is no way to tel for sure as Samsung has managed to keep a tight lid on its latest phablet.

The device here appears to have a massive Edge-to-Edge display with a front facing camera positioned off to the left of the device and a small bezel with the Samsung logo on the bottom.

It doesn’t have a physical home button, something that came on last year’s international version of the Galaxy Note and something that Samsung excluded on the U.S. model.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may have finally appeared.

There are also no physical navigation keys which likely means this is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Again, there is no way to tell whether this is the real deal and it’s quite possible that it’s not and may just be misdirection or a mistake on Samsung’s part.

We should also note that this render surfaced before the launch of the Galaxy S III as the Galaxy S III and Samsung Pakistan labeled it as such as first. So, it’s possible that it was just being lazy. Still, this render embodies what many consumers have been wanting from the Galaxy Note 2 so it’s very possible that at least some elements will arrive with the new version.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be shown off on August 29th at an event before the IFA trade show in Berlin kicks off.

Samsung’s device is rumored to be a big improvement over the original Galaxy Note as it will possibly feature 4G LTE, a quad-core processor, better cameras, and a 5.5-inch HD display. We’ve also heard that it has a design like the Galaxy S III, which could explain the rounded corners in the render.

What do you think, is this the Galaxy Note 2?
