Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat Update Hits More Users

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update remains elusive in the United States but it continues to push forward in other regions of the world as the KitKat update has today landed for variants of the GT-N900 and the GT-N9005, bringing Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat update to Galaxy Note 3 users in regions like India and South Korea.

Earlier this month, Samsung quietly started rolling out the Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update, its first Android 4.4 KitKat update, but certainly not the last. The update initially landed in Poland before spreading to Russia earlier in the week. The company typically starts slow before opening the flood gates for its Galaxy users.

Today, thanks to SamMobile, we know that Samsung has done just that. The update is currently rolling out to major regions like Switzerland, India and South Korea . The update also appears to have hit select carriers in Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, and Slovenia though those have not been confirmed by their respective carriers, at least not that we’ve seen. Those updates were confirmed by the Samsung-Updates which is typically very reliable when it comes to Samsung update information.

The update is the same Android 4.4 KitKat update that we’ve seen push out to other Galaxy Note 3 owners and it brings a number of UI tweaks and enhancements along with it. It’s not a massive update, checking in at around 380MB in size, but it’s an update that should improve the Galaxy Note 3’s software experience and serve as a bridge between whatever is next for the 5.7-inch smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Review

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat updates remain missing for carriers in the United States and thus far, we have not seen AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, or Verizon put out any information about the upgrade. Typically, U.S. carriers are a few weeks behind the curve and it could be that that is what we see here with the Galaxy Note 3’s KitKat update. Users in the United States should expect the update in the United States to be similar in stature to the updates rolling out today in Europe and in Asia.

The company still hasn’t detailed the rest of its Android 4.4 KitKat update roll outs though rumors suggest that the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2 will be next in line for the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Galaxy S4 details peg the update for February or March and the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 updates are rumored for March or April. None of the updates have been confirmed by Samsung. The company also failed to confirm the Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update ahead of time.

If they didnt put this setting of ART in developer options that is one of the most important changes in 4.4, then is just an update for the people’s eyes.At least in leaked version of 4.4.2 on S4 this feature is not available
4.4.2 KitKat Galaxy Note 3 Changelog
