Published

on

The heavily rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is in the news again today as a new rumor suggests that Samsung has opted not to go with a metal design but instead has chosen to use a Samsung Galaxy S4 style design with its new phablet, a sign that the Galaxy Note 3 is likely going to be coming with a plastic form factor.

Over the past few months, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been heavily rumored to be replacing the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung’s current flagship and one of the best Android smartphones on the market. In recent weeks, Galaxy Note 3 rumors have been firming up and we have started to get more of a bead on the company’s rumored phablet.

A Verizon Galaxy Note 2 update, possibly Android 4.1.2, will soon bring more Multi-View apps.

A Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could come with a plastic design.

One feature though that has remained a bit of a mystery is the device’s design. Samsung is notorious for keeping its designs in the shadows, often all the way up until launch. The Galaxy Note 3 design situation actually has been a little more complicated than usual as not only has it not leaked out, but Samsung was rumored to be tossing around a few different designs including one made of metal.

According to SamMobile, the metal design is now out and Samsung has opted for a plastic design similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4, a choice that is likely to incur the wrath of prospective owners but the choice that is the most logical given Samsung’s past.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 followed in the footsteps of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with its design resembling a smaller version of Samsung’s previous flagship smartphone. With the improvements that Samsung made to the Galaxy S4 design including, it should come as no surprise that the company is likely going to offer a plastic Galaxy Note 3.

Here are 5 tips to get better Samsung Galaxy S4 battery life.

The Galaxy Note 3 could follow the Galaxy S4’s lead.

Specifics are hard to come by at this point but it appears that the bezel of the display is going to be thinner than previous models. A small but certainly a welcomed change if it does in fact occur.

Other rumored specifications of the Galaxy Note 3 include a 5.9-6-inch display, Exynos 5 Octa processor, 13MP camera, and Samsung’s TouchWiz software that has come under fire for how much storage space it takes up off the bat. Look for Samsung to attempt to solve these issues before the arrival of the Galaxy Note 3.

It will really need to come in a 32Gb model as a minimum and have a decent display matching the ppi of the S4 and HTC One. Let’s hope the camera is also better in low light than the Note/Note2/S3/S4.

At 6 inchs plus or minus, id rather have tbe polycarbonate and the security that brings for peace of mind if you drop it…almuinum glass ect all nick chip and dent…wherease you cant really even scratch the polycarbonate…in addition I believe samsung will continue their brand building and most certainly will follow the s4 and galaxy mega design language….I honestly woudnt br surprised if the note 3 was the galaxy mega with proper high end specs, s pen, and ppi…beautiful design as is

I don’t mind the plastic body as long as its not the same glossy finish Samsung used on the s3 and the note 2. I really hate that glossy finish, it attracts so much oils and finger prints

For me it has always been about what’s inside the device not what the body is made of. HIgh end processor, high end FULL HD display, and it better come in 32GB & 64GB versions and put the 3GB of RAM that was rumored. We need more memory to run that hog you call Touch Wiz.

Its ppi will definately be less than the One and the S4 it will have a 1080 p display but because its larger screen size it will have less PPI Probably in neighorhood of 370-380 ppi still far better then most human eyes can see at 10+ inches. I like that they will keep it plastic as well to minimize weight and keep the important features of removable battery and memory card. I also hope her in US we can get the 64GB version for a change. I absolutely love my Note 2 but would love even more a version with updated software and a full HD screen better camera 6″ screen I think is about where it should max out with thinner bezel the actual phone should be only slightly larger than the Note 2.

Rumors are looking good so far, I’m hoping to be able to add an extended battery and SD storage extension, as well hopefully a 64GB version option here in US.

I am excited for the Note 3. I don’t mind touchwiz but it can often get very sluggish. If asop custom ROMs worked natively for the spen and snote and there were multi window, I would opt for asop.

Higher dpi for the screen, a larger screen, edge to edge
Wacom higher ppi with even better s pen features , I would like to use my note 3 as a wacom tablet when hooked up to my Mac.
13 mpix camera or higher, better color treatment, better low light photography, steady cam
    Thinner lighter but not cheaper

And please Samsung spend some of your billions to hire someone to design a new look for the galaxy. Make it feel fresh. It doesnt have to be drastic or funky but make it look less cheap. Seriously we’re paying up to 800$ for these things. I just can’t believe that you can come out with the same cheap look every generation and not be ashamed of yourself. Its as if you taken your entire design team to the back alley and put a bullet in their heads. I know, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But its definitely wanting anew polished more sophisticated mature / or fresh and forward thinking look. Stay simple but sophisticated, stay away from cheap looks. Its as if your design department has been asleep since the s2. Polycarbonate , unibody or something come on. Have a freaking contest to see who can make the best look and get the most votes. Do something new damn it. I mean one day I don’t care how cool the s pen is to use with the Note and touchwiz I will just drop my Samsung galaxy following just because Samsung is so lazy with phone design. Just imagine if apple or HTC came out with a phablet with wacom stylus integration, if HTC came out with a good phablet with stylus. I’m definitely dropping you. Is it really that hard?
