Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Display Rumors Take Shape

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3, rumored for later this year, is increasingly rumored to have a bigger display than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with the latest rumors seemingly pointing to it being the first Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphone to arrive with a display that measures in at 6-inches.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 remains one of the best smartphones available, its popularity has not stopped rumors from swirling about Samsung’s rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The Galaxy Note 2’s likely successor is already thought to be arriving at some point in the second half of the year and leaks point to it as having a larger 1080p display, Exynos 5 Octa processor, 13MP camera, and more.

Thus far, rumors have suggested that the display could measure in at 5.99-inches, far bigger than the Galaxy Note 2’s display. There has also been whispering in regards to the type of display that Samsung might use, whether it’ll be LCD or AMOLED or if it will use Samsung Youm, Samsung’s unbreakable flexible display technology that it showed off at CES earlier this year.

New information from Korea Investment & Securities, by way of OLED-Display, suggests that Samsung may actually be readying a flagship device with a 6-inch display for sometime later this year. That device could very well be the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, a device that has previously been pegged at 5.99-inches and has been rumored for the second half of this year.

Further, the report states that Samsung may not be able to get production of its Samsung Youm flexible display ramped up in time for the debut of the Galaxy Note 3 later this year. It also believes that Samsung will be selecting an OLED display over an LCD display for the Galaxy Note 3 which seems to put any possibility of a Sharp IGZO display on the Galaxy Note 3 to rest for now.

So, it would appear that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could be coming with a 6-inch AMOLED display that does not utilize Samsung’s Youm technology. Previous rumors have indicated that Samsung current has three Galaxy Note 3 prototypes, one with a flexible display, one with a Galaxy S4 design and one that features a different, unreleased design.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch is rumored for early September, possibly ahead of the IFA 2013 conference in Berlin.

    The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be the best smartphone for a long time… until the Note 4 comes out to be specific.

    I can’t wait to get my hands on the Note 3. The Note 2 has been my favorite phone by far up to now.

    No doubt it will be the Galaxy Note 3 for me the first day of launch on T-Mobile. After owning the current Galaxy Note 2 which is the GOLD STANDARD of today’s technology it’s NO WAY I will allow the Note 3 to pass. Nothing on the market today including the current HTC ONE, LG OPTIMUS G PRO, or GALAXY S4 beats out the current Galaxy Note 2. Battery life, software solutions, as well as feature implementations alone make the Galaxy Note 2 the BEST device on the market since the inception of android.

    Maybe it is Redwood phone. The 4G capability phone that runs on Tizen OS.
