Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Photos: Don’t Expect the Real Deal Anytime Soon

Published

on

A new alleged image of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has leaked out today ahead of its rumored September launch and while the image may depict the Galaxy Note 3, it’s more likely that this either a dummy unit or something else entirely.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is currently one of the most heavily rumored devices on the planet with leaks emerging on an almost regular basis, reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch that took place earlier this year.

The Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S4. Rumors point to a Galaxy Note 3 with a larger display and 1080P HD resolution.

The Galaxy S4 design didn’t leak out until a few days before its launch event. Expect the same from the Galaxy Note 3.

Leaks have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be coming with a number of upgrades when it arrives including a larger 1080p display, thought to measure in around 6-inches, a quad-core processor with a next-generation chip either the Exynos 5 Octa or Snapdragon 800, a 13MP camera, a design like the Galaxy S4 and likely, Android 4.3 with a boat load of Samsung features.

Signs point to an arrival in September with a release likely coming in the weeks afterward. In addition to the feature and Galaxy Note 3 launch date leaks, we’ve seen several images emerge proclaiming themselves to be the Galaxy Note 3. All of them have been dubious and at least one of them has been shown to be fake.

This is allegedly the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Today, we have yet another alleged Galaxy Note 3 photo, this one from G4Games, which shows a device with a thin bezel and rounded edges. We also see a glimpse of what appears to be Android, at least a Samsung version of it.

The leakster claims that the screen is 6-inches, something that we’ve heard is true, and that the display accounts for 84% of the overall device. That’s not outlandish either.

While this could certainly be the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, it’s more likely that it’s not the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Samsung does a fantastic job of keeping its smartphone designs a secret ahead of launch. We saw it with the Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S4, the latter of which was heavily leaked. So while this could be the Galaxy Note 3 in the flesh, odds are that it’s either in a dummy case or this is not the Galaxy Note 3.

Instead, consumers should expect the real Galaxy Note 3 to leak out just a few days ahead of its Unpacked event, thought to be in September, and continue to take any Galaxy Note 3 image leaks with a massive grain of salt.

A simple 128gb micro sd card for $50 is ample… Dont complain when apple memory upgrade intervals of 16gb cost a $100 each.

The sd card is great for storage of files (music, pics, docs) but the apps themselves still have to installed to the phone memory. OS and system files, as well as the increasing number of must have apps will quickly put you very close to 16GB. A good quality game alone will take over a GB of storage. Beside the fact that apps do not install to the memory card some apps are not even written with the memory in mind and therefore are not written with the capabilities to access data on the sd card. Although you are starting to see more and more apps with this capability. At the end of the day more built in storage is definitely better then adding a card. Not to mention the better, i.e. faster storage does cost more for the reduced latency.

My advice is pay for the phone with the most storage you can afford, 32GB should suffice but I know that heavy smartphone users, especially business types, might need more.

BTW, that is a Note 2 laying on a Note 2 cover. The picture below that one, with a partial view of an upper right screen, is the alleged Note 3.
