Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date Bringing Surprise

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date will be bringing a little surprise along with it as the device has been confirmed to possess a microUSB 3.0 port, something that will allow for faster charging and faster data transfers, something that is huge for a massive, media consuming device like Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3.

On September 4th, Samsung revealed the Galaxy Note 3 after months and months of rumors and speculation. On stage, the company talked about the large 5.7-inch 1080p display, the power Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, the 13MP camera that will replace the 8MP one found on the Galaxy Note 2, the new slim and lightweight design, Android 4.3, new S Pen features, better multitasking, and more. However, the company skipped over a tiny little feature that should come as a bonus to those thinking about picking one up when it arrives next month.

The Galaxy Note 3 possess a microUSB 3.0 port, something that may sound very technical, but really isn’t. Simply put, as Droid-Life points out, this port will allow users to charge up their Galaxy Note 3 faster when the device is plugged into a computer. This is huge, considering the Galaxy Note 3 is a huge phone with a massive battery.

Also, data will transfer at faster speeds when using a microUSB 3.0 supported cord, something that should delight those that are going to be using the Galaxy Note 3 extensively in school or in the work place.

Those who still want to use the old microUSB 2.0 standard can do so thanks to backwards compatibility. It will just mean slower charging and slower data transfers.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 U.S. release date is confirmed for October.

There aren’t very many surprises left with the Galaxy Note 3 launch as most of the features are out in the wild and AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have offered up pricing and release dates for the large-screen smartphone. U.S. Cellular remains the only carrier that hasn’t announced a date though it says that it will still release the Galaxy Note 3 in October.

The Galaxy Note 3 release in the U.S. will be sandwich in between two massive smartphones, the iPhone 5s from Apple and the Nexus 5 from Google. The iPhone 5s was released on September 20th alongside the iPhone 5c while Google is expected to announce a brand new Nexus smartphone sometime in October.

Plain and simple the Galaxy Note 3 is on a total different type of level from any device on the market today. The iphone 5s is definitely a comical JOKE compared to the Galaxy Note 2 or 3 for that matter.

The Nikon 36MP Full Frame DSLR is USB-3 as well as Wacom’s Companion 13″ tablet, (I’m going to like flagging and sorting back-up photos en-route on my SSD more than on my Hyper-Drive) I hope my Intuos-3 pens still work with Samsung’s Note phones and tablets when I get the new ones. By the way, will the 12″ Note with the IGZO display have the 10GB per second USB-3.1 port?
