Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Software All but Confirmed

Published

on

All signs have pointed to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 arriving with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean stock out of the box and now, a reliable source has thrown its weight behind those rumors, suggesting that the Galaxy Note 3 software will indeed sport Android 4.3 and not Android 4.2 or Android 5.0.

In the weeks leading up to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch, set for September 4th, we’ve seen Samsung’s new device leak out on numerous occasions, including in benchmarks that seemingly confirmed its Android software. Benchmarks have pointed to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Google’s latest Android update, being on board the new Galaxy Note when it arrives.

Now SamMobile, a reliable source when it comes to Samsung software, has chimed in suggesting that the device will indeed be coming with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. While the company was initially testing Android 4.2 on the Galaxy Note 3, it appears that it has begun testing Android 4.3 internally which all but seals the Galaxy Note 3’s fate.

This of course isn’t a surprise given that Samsung has apparently skipped Android 4.2 for Android 4.3 on the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 and given that the company launched the Galaxy Note 2 with Android 4.1, a piece of software that had arrived just a few months before its arrival.

What this does seem to rule out though is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, the latter of which is expected to arrive for devices in October or November of this year.

Of course, there is more to the Galaxy Note 3 software than just Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy Note series possesses powerful TouchWiz software from Samsung including top-notch multitasking. It also comes with applications, unique applications, that take advantage of its bundled S Pen stylus. None of those features have been confirmed just yet.

In addition to Android 4.3, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have a 5.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, 13MP camera, plastic design, and a launch date on September 4th.

The Galaxy Note 3 release date has been rumored for late September though no specific date has emerged just yet.
