Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Preview

Published

on

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date just days away for most countries, we want to take a close look at the Galaxy Note 4 release date with a preview aimed at those thinking about buying Samsung’s Next Big Thing.

Samsung’s all new Galaxy Note 4 is an impressive smartphone and it comes loaded with high-powered specs including a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a brand new 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a new S Pen stylus, Android 4.4.4 KitKat software that’s backed by TouchWiz, a brand new design that comes with both plastic and metal materials, and a whole lot more.

The Galaxy Note 4 will replace the Galaxy Note 3 as the company’s flagship and it will be joined later in the year by a brand new Samsung Galaxy Edge, a high-end flagship that is also coming to the United States and a number of other select countries. And while the Galaxy Note Edge has attracted a lot of attention, the Galaxy Note 4 will serve as the company’s mass produced, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus competitor.

In the weeks since the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 announcement in early September, we’ve seen a ton of new Galaxy Note 4 release date details emerge for buyers in the U.S. and all over the world. The past three weeks in particular have been exciting as we’ve seen Galaxy Note 4 release dates confirmed, Galaxy Note pre-orders begin, and Galaxy Note 4 price information touch down. And as we move deeper into the month of October, we’re closer than ever to the widespread Galaxy Note 4 release.

With Galaxy Note 4 release dates just days away, we want to preview the Galaxy Note 4 release date and offer up as much information as we can to those enamored with the Galaxy Note 4 and all it has to offer. This will outline the basic release date details for regions around the world and get you caught up to speed on everything you need to know right now and in the days ahead.

Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Map

In the weeks since Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 announcement, we’ve seen a ton of new Galaxy Note 4 release date details emerge including specific Galaxy Note 4 release dates around the world. After several weeks, Samsung finally outlined exactly where, and when, the Galaxy Note 4 release date will take place around the world.

Unlike the iPhone 6 release in September, the Galaxy Note 4 release date will be staggered across several different dates dependent on region. Fortunately, it looks like a majority of people will get the Galaxy Note 4 in mid-to-late October with a few stragglers getting it in the month of November. Most places in Europe, including the UK, will get the Galaxy Note 4 the week of October 10th.

Galaxy-Note-4

These countries should make up the majority of Galaxy Note 4 release countries. There’s a chance that we could see the device emerge for other places down the road though we suspect that these 140 or so countries will make up the overwhelming majority. If you don’t see your country on here, chances are you’re going to need to import the device, something that could prove costly.

Of course, you’ll need to make sure that the device has the appropriate cellular bands before buying it. Do your research because if you don’t, you could wind up buying an expensive paperweight.

Galaxy Note 4 Release Date (U.S.)

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date in the United States is confirmed for October 17th. That date encompasses all five major U.S. carriers and it should serve as the only Galaxy Note 4 release date in the United States. Smaller carriers typically do not carry the Galaxy Note series and this year appears to be following a similar path.

With that in mind, we want to take a look at the important Galaxy Note 4 release date details for each U.S. carrier, a list that includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon Wireless.

AT&T Galaxy Note 4

AT&T is currently taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 4. The company is offering it in 32GB form and it will come in both black and white, at least at the start. We haven’t heard anything about the gold and pink Galaxy Note 4 models though there’s certainly a chance that both will come to the United States down the road.

The carrier is offering the Galaxy Note 4 at several different price points including a $299.99 on-contract Galaxy Note 4, a $35 Galaxy Note 4 with AT&T Next, and an $826 Galaxy Note 4 off-contract. That off-contract price is extremely expensive, far more expensive than the off-contract prices at its competitors. That’s something to think about before buying.

AT&T’s Galaxy Note 4 will be available through a number of different retailers including AT&T itself, Best Buy, and Amazon. We aren’t anticipating any shortages so AT&T buyers should not have a problem finding it.

One more thing to note: If you do pre-order, AT&T will likely get your Galaxy Note 4 to you before October 17th. Its shipping times have held up and its still slated to ship out by October 14th.

Sprint Galaxy Note 4

The Sprint Galaxy Note 4 is also up for pre-order and it’s available in 32GB in both black and white. Once again, we have not heard anything about the pink or gold models. Same as AT&T and same for all five U.S. Galaxy Note 4 carriers.

Sprint’s pre-order appears to be online only and the carrier is only offering two ways to buy. On-contract or through the company’s Easy Pay program. On-contract, Sprint is selling the Galaxy Note 4 for $299.99. That’s down from its original $350 on-contract price. We were the first to detail Sprint’s expensive price tag and our hope is that that report sparked the pre-release price drop.

On Easy Pay, Sprint is offering the Galaxy Note 4 at $0 down with $30.00 for 23 payments and $30.00 for the 24th payment. This is similar to plans like AT&T Next and Verizon Edge so you will want to do your research before diving in.

You’ll be able to find it at major retailers including Amazon and Best Buy.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4

Like the others, T-Mobile is offering the Galaxy Note 4 on pre-order ahead of its release date. T-Mobile’s also offering the 32GB model in both black and white though pricing for those models is a little bit different.

T-Mobile no longer offers contracts for its smartphones so you’ll need to buy without any binding agreement, or, subsidized price. T-Mobile is also charging $0 up front with a full retail price of $749. That’s much cheaper than the Galaxy Note 4 full retail price on AT&T. T-Mobile will charge $31 per month for 24 months though if you cancel service, the remaining balance on phone becomes due.

T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 4 is not going to be found at retailers like Best Buy or Amazon. Its retail presence is going to be far more limited and you’ll likely want to buy directly from T-Mobile.

U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 4

The U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 4 release date is on October 17th as well though it has yet to confirm any pertinent details. Pre-orders remain missing, so does the price tag. What we have discovered though is that U.S. Cellular might only have the black Galaxy Note 4 in stock at launch. Samsung’s website only lists the black model. Oddly enough, the pre-register button takes us to the Galaxy Note Edge launch page.

We imagine that it will carry a 32GB model in black, maybe white, and that it will come with an on-contract price tag around $299.99. U.S. Cellular, the nation’s fifth largest carrier, won’t be able to get away with an absurd price tag and it typically prices its Galaxy Note models at $299.99. We’re expecting it to be par for the course.

Verizon Galaxy Note 4

Verizon’s Galaxy Note 4 is also up for pre-order and it will also be coming in 32GB form with black and white options at the start. Both models will start shipping by October 23rd with a specific date not yet known.

The company is offering it with three different price points including $299.99 on-contract, $35 Galaxy Note 4 with Verizon Edge, and a $699 Galaxy Note 4 off-contract price. That’s much cheaper than AT&T and the others.

Verizonn’s Galaxy Note 4 will also be available through a number of different retailers including Verizon itself, Best Buy, and Amazon. We aren’t anticipating any shortages for this model either so it should be readily available in just a few short weeks.

Galaxy Note 4 Deals

There won’t be a shortage of Galaxy Note 4 deals at launch. Amazon and Best Buy are both offering some off-contract Galaxy Note 4 deals that prospective buyers will want to be aware of as we get closer to the Galaxy Note 4 release date.

On-contract Galaxy Note 4 deals are scarce at the moment though we fully expect some to emerge in the days and weeks after the Galaxy Note 4’s release. That goes for countries outside the United States as well.

Note-4-5

Android phones typically get discounted shortly after their arrival and with Black Friday and the holidays coming up, look for retailers and carriers to offer incentives to those looking to buy.
