Samsung Galaxy S II Finally Launches on AT&T

Yesterday was a pretty big day for those that have been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S II to launch on AT&T and that’s because the Samsung Galaxy S II finally launched, officially, on AT&T. It was a road filled with a lot of anticipation and a surprise that caught us off guard but the phone has finally arrived and it available to those that want a quality Android device and aren’t interested in waiting for the Nexus Prime, HTC Vigor or Droid RAZR.

AT&T is offering up the Galaxy S II for $199 with a new two-year contract, a little bit steep, but definitely not exorbitant. AT&T’s model also comes with near-field communication (NFC) support which will be able to take advantage of Isis, the AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon backed competitor of Google Wallet.

The AT&T version of the Galaxy S II also has some pretty beefy specifications.

AT&T Galaxy S II

It runs on AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ network, it has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 1650mAh, HDMI-out, and a gorgeous form factor.

There is one drawback though.

It was recently discovered that it has a major security flaw where the phone’s lock screen can be bypassed with little to no effort. We’re sure AT&T is working on a fix for this so we wouldn’t let that discourage you from picking up this fantastic Android smartphone.
