Missing Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Update Emerges

Published

on

One of the few remaining Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates has emerged today though it’s still not clear exactly when the update is going to roll out to its users.

Since November, Gotta Be Mobile has been tracking the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates as they make their way to devices all over the world. And while the updates completed their roll outs in the United States back in 2013, there are still some updates that remain unreleased.

In 2014, we’ve seen several missing updates emerge from the shadows, either with a future release date or in the form of an actual update, and today, we have another to add to that list.

Vodafone Australia has finally confirmed a Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for arrival, saying that the update for its GT-I9300T, the 3G model, is currently in testing. The carrier updates its software page every week which means that this addition is extremely recent and could potentially mean that a roll out will arrive within the next couple of weeks.

For comparison purposes, a Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.3 update, that entered testing just a couple of weeks ago, has been approved and is currently awaiting its roll out.

When the update does arrive, it will take the device from Android 4.1 Jelly Bean all the way to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Samsung skipped Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 can run S Voice from the Galaxy S4 with S Voice Drive.

This is one of the few remaining Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates and it shows that the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out is indeed winding down.

Fellow Australian carrier Telstra still hasn’t confirmed an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for its Galaxy S3 and Australian carrier Optus plans to roll out its Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 updates this month.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is expected to be followed by the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Rumors point to a Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update rolling out in the month of March, or, just a few weeks after the company debuts the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 launch is rumored for February 24th at MWC 2014.

Samsung still hasn’t confirmed that update and from the looks of things, it could be awhile before some Galaxy S3 variants get Android 4.4 KitKat, considering some have yet to see Android 4.3.

Seriously why do you bother to write about rumours? Android updates for Samsung sucks. It is just getting more and more frustrating to wait for an update for this crap device. Let’s face it S3 will not be upgraded with Kitkat. Next week i am buying myself a Nexus phone so i can have the latest updates of Android.
