Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Update Starts Rolling Out

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has started rolling out as the new update, which brings Galaxy Gear support, has started rolling out in Europe ahead of a wider roll out that is expected to land for Galaxy S3 users in the United States in November.

As expected, the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update has landed for the international variant of the Galaxy S3 though the roll out, again as expected, appears to be limited to one region at the moment. SamMobile claims that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is now available on the Galaxy S3 on Vodafone in Ireland though it should be on the move soon. The device getting the update is the GT-i9300.

Typically, Samsung rolls out its Android updates in phases, meaning, the roll out will start off slowly and then shift to more regions in the weeks ahead. A leaked timeline points to a Galaxy S3 update for the four big U.S. carriers during the month of November with Sprint apparently kicking things off in just a few days.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Premium Update has finally hit AT&T.

When the update does land, it will be bringing a number of features and enhancements to Galaxy S3 owners. The update that rolled out today lands with all of the features of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, including Galaxy Gear, but a couple of other features that help to make this update one that Galaxy S3 users should be excited about.

Included in the update are features from the Galaxy S4 software including Sound and Shot in the camera app, two new screen modes including adapt display, and some user interface tweaks. It will also come with new S-Voice, a brand new Samsung keyboard, and a collection of new Samsung applications that includes a new calculator and clock. The update also brings support for Samsung’s Galaxy Gear accessory.

The Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 roll out follows in the footsteps of the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out which landed last month and has already landed in the United States. It should be followed by the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out which is also slated to begin sometime this month and should start hitting the United States in late November.

Who the hell want galaxy gear support, we want s4 features such as smart scroll smart pause, nobody wants this gear support but nobody is reporting about s4 features nor the open gl 3 is available in this update.

Open GL3.0 is confirmed supported on the Note 2. I’m unsure of the GS3. I’m upset there isn’t any new gesture features like you said, smart scroll, etc. There are a few good YouTube vids of people with the official 4.3 which will give you a better idea of what it looks like.

This update is just to make the s3 users fool, nothing is new in this update, Samsung only wants to increase the sale of galaxy gear that’s why the have just given gear support, they are just fooling everybody.

The only reason I’m not frustrated anymore about the waiting time on finally upgrading my S3 from 4.1 to 4.3 is because I’m getting the Nexus 5 which ships with 4.4! If Sprint would have offered the Nexus 4, I would have been ditched Samsung. I was willing to leave Sprint if they didn’t carry the Nexus 5.
