The Samsung Galaxy S4, which is currently one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2013, may have surfaced today in photos depicting not only the device itself but also some of its purported specifications.

On March 14th, Samsung is widely expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy S4, the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S3. And while feature leaks have been numerous including today when a supposed software feature surfaced, the actual Samsung Galaxy S4 design has been hard to nail down. Rumors have suggested that it will use plastic, look like the Galaxy S3 or the Galaxy Note 8.0, and use a home button on the bottom of the device.

Update: Unsurprisingly, this isn’t an official render. Instead, it’s a mockup from a designer at Expansys.

Could this be the Samsung Galaxy S4?

One image that leaked out, purportedly showing the Samsung Galaxy S4, showed a device with a rectangular design and now, we have another possible leak from a source that has been credible in the past.

The evleaks Twitter account has leaked out two images, that it prefaces with ellipses, that not only bear Galaxy S4 branding, but also depict what appears to be the Galaxy S4 itself and some of its rumored features. Given how accurate the evleaks account has been in the past, it leaked the HTC One design long before its launch for example, it’s possible that we could be looking at the Samsung Galaxy S4 itself prior to its launch.

The first image shows what is marked as a “Samsung Galaxy S IV” along with the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 and the original Galaxy S. The design shows what appears to be a white plastic frame with a front-facing camera and a more rectangular design than the Galaxy S3.

In the other image, we get a look at what could either be a Galaxy S4 press shot or simply a render, next to features that have been rumored to be on board the Samsung Galaxy S4. Those include a Full HD display, 2GB of RAM, three storage options, 13MP camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The font and overall look of the image leave us dubious as does the lack of home button. The Galaxy S4, thus far, has been rumored to have a physical home button like the Galaxy S3.

So at this point, we have to take this leak with a grain of salt, even with evleaks’ track record. We saw numerous Galaxy S3 leaks before the actual design arrived and it could be that this leak is something to throw those on the scent of the Galaxy S4, off of its scent.

The Samsung Galaxy S4, its features and final design will be arriving on March 14th and it’s rumored to have a 4.99-inch display, quad-core processor, 13MP camera, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to go along with several Samsung software features including one called Eye Scroll which will allow users to scroll through content on the display simply by using their eyes.

No home button? The screen is not in the middle of the frame?

I hope all of those features come to the new Galaxy SIV, but the one I’m looking forward to most is the full HD display. I like to stream my live and recorded shows on my phone during the trip to and from work at DISH, since it takes a bit of time to get there. I’ve got the DISH Anywhere app on my current Galaxy, which lets me stream my shows from my DVR everywhere I go, and it would be nice to watch my shows on a 1080p display.

Wonder how the camera will be, I was a bit disappointed on the S3’s camera. The pictures are oke, but especially in low light conditions I was not so impressed.
