The Samsung Galaxy S4 is also going to feature a quad-core processor however it won’t be the same chip in all regions. As Samsung announced yesterday, some devices will have a 1.6GHz Exynos 5 Octa quad-core chip inside, a chip that sports eight cores but only uses four at a time, while other regions will get a device that features a 1.9GHz quad-core processor.

Samsung wasn’t talking specifics yesterday in regards to the Galaxy S4’s other processor but we now know that the Galaxy S4 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor thanks to Qualcomm.

The company has revealed the processor as the Galaxy S4’s other chip and it will be the one that comes inside the U.S. variants of the Galaxy S4 which are heading to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon.

Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon 600 will offer 40% better performance than the previous-generation Snapdragon S4 Pro and it should be a good alternative to the Exynos 5 Octa processor that will be coming to Galaxy S4 variants in other regions around the world.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 and its processor will be landing in the United States in the weeks ahead, though specific release dates are not yet known. While the five largest carriers will be offering the device, none of them have offered specifics.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is expected to debut in some markets in April with the United Kingdom currently pegged to be getting it on April 25th.

So it’s the Snapdragon that will be offered in the U.S.? Which one would be considered better? I was hoping for the octa core personally.
