Published

U.S. carrier remain silent about the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date for both the regular variant and the Galaxy S6 Edge but that hasn’t stopped key retailers from pushing ahead with their own release prep. Samsung Galaxy S6 Amazon release prep has begun and it starts with a sign up page that offers a unique Galaxy S6 deal to prospective buyers.

Earlier this week, Samsung announced its two new flagships, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. On stage, the company outlined many of the key details including the Galaxy S6 specs, Galaxy S6 design, and the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date which is confirmed for April 10th. Samsung’s initial Galaxy S6 release for the regular model and Galaxy S6 Edge will include 20 countries though those 20 countries are currently a mystery weeks ahead of its arrival.

We’ve seen U.S. Galaxy S6 release dates make some progress this week and we’re finally starting to see retailers come to life ahead of the devices arrival inside the United States. Amazon, one of the largest retailers in the world, will carry the U.S. Galaxy S6 when it arrives and the company is already laying the groundwork for the arrival of the two popular flagships.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Amazon release prep work has begun and it includes a sign up page where prospective buyers can input their email address for more information about Amazon’s Galaxy S6 release. Those who sign up will be the first to know about the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge release and they’ll also come away with an early Galaxy S6 deal.

Amazon says that those who sign up for more information about its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge release will receive a promo code for 10% off a “single item from select Samsung Galaxy S6 companion accessory items sold and shipped by Amazon.com.” The company says that the deal will last until March 31st and that promo codes will be sent out on or by May 1st.

The retailer will have a ton of Galaxy S6 accessories available when the Galaxy S6 release takes place so those who are looking to snag a quick and easy Galaxy S6 deal will want to take a look.

The U.S. Galaxy S6 release date is still unknown though we’ve seen it make some progress this week ahead of carrier announcements. Yesterday, the Verizon Galaxy S6, Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge and T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Edge cleared the FCC, a huge step towards their upcoming release dates. The U.S. traditionally is among the first markets to get big name Galaxy smartphones and the arrival of these filings hints at a release that’s on the fast track, perhaps for April 10th.

U.S. Cellular, the nation’s fifth largest carrier, says that it will start stocking the two devices in April though it declined to offer a specific release date. U.S. release dates typically cluster around one another which means that devices from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon shouldn’t be too far behind, if they’re behind at all.

Carriers in the United States still haven’t confirmed Galaxy S6 pre-orders though with a month to go before the start of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge release, there’s still a lot of time left for early orders.

Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 comes with an assortment of upgrades including a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 577 ppi, Exynos 7 octo-core processor from Samsung, 32/64/128GB of storage with no microSD card slot, Android 5.0 Lollipop with a new version of Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, a 16MP camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, Cat.6 LTE, and a 2550 mAh (Galaxy S6) and 2600 mAh battery (S6 Edge).

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge will come with similar specifications though its will feature a unique curved display that bends down over the two sides of the phone. Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Edge eschew plastic in favor of a bold new design that features a combination of metal and glass that also features Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is confirmed for all five major U.S. carriers but it’s not expected to arrive for smaller pre-paid and regional carriers. The regular model is confirmed for several smaller U.S. carriers including MetroPCS and Boost Mobile.
