Samsung is going to be one of the most visible companies at this year’s Summer Olympic Games in London. Its Samsung Galaxy S III is the official smartphone of the Games and now, the company has unveiled two special edition Olympic devices.

O2, a carrier based in the United Kingdom, and Samsung have introduced special edition Olympic versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note and the Samsung Galaxy Y which will come with backings that celebrate the UK’s participation in the Olympic Games.

The devices will come in two flavors. One has the country’s Union Jack flag on the back while the other has the Team Great Britain logo, a lion that is both red and blue.

That’s not all either.

O2 and Samsung are offering up some pretty cool prizes for those that buy the new limited edition Galaxy Note or Galaxy Y. Owners will be able to win a pair of tickets to an Olympic event, tickets to a Team Great Britain training camp in July or tickets to a Team Great Britain celebration event that will be taking place in July, the same month that the Games start.

In addition, Samsung will donate £1 to Team Great Britain which will benefit future Olympic athletes.

Other than the limited edition backings, these devices are the same as the ones that were launched months ago. Of the two, the Galaxy Note is the one that should be of interest to customers as it has beefier specifications and a clear path to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Galaxy Note features a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display that features 800 x 1280 pixels, a dual-core processor, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera for video chatting, and the international model recently got Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

It’ll also be hitting the UK in pink in June.

As for the Galaxy Y, it’s more of a budget smartphone as it features  a 3-inch 240×320 pixels LCD display, 2MP camera, a single-core processor and a Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
