Skype and Verizon Team Up and Shift the Ground a Bit

Published

on

This is big news coming from Skype and Verizon. The two are teaming up so that Verizon customers will be able to use Skype to make calls on their mobile handsets. Get this, it won’t count against data plans or minute allowance. Hmmm? Intriguing isn’t it.

Given all of the hullabaloo about 3G networks (specifically AT&T) not being able to handle data like VOIP, this comes as a big move. It is especially a bonus for those who call internationally. This is scheduled to roll out to Verizon customers beginning in March. It will be interesting to watch.
