Sony Ericsson Teases Mystery Xperia Smartphone

Published

on

Just a short time ago, we told you about the detailed but unofficial hands-on that the unannounced Sony Ericsson Nozomi just received. And now, Sony Ericsson itself has just released a teaser photo through its Facebook page that shows off yet another unannounced Xperia phone that may or may not be the Nozomi. In fact, it could be something else entirely.

Here’s the deal.

The camera on the Nozomi is in a different place than the one found in the teaser photo leading some to believe that Sony may just have two superphones in the pipeline for CES.

While the Nozomi’s camera rests in the rear-center of the phone, the other device clearly has a camera situated off-center.

It’s a predicament, but it’s not a bad predicament to be in. We already know that SE will be launching at least one smartphone and two smartphones, well, two would just be an added bonus.

In any event, just to remind you, the Nozomi is supposed to sport some pretty awesome specifications including a HD 720×1280 resolution screen, Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread, a 1.5GHz processor from Qualcomm, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 12 mega-pixel rear camera.

The only gripe we have at this point is that it’s not an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phone from the get-go.

We’ll be going hands-on with whatever Sony Ericsson releases at CES, be it one phone or two, so make sure you check back here for our coverage of CES 2012 from Las Vegas.
